Big action on site today!

This isn't a submarine, although it certainly looks like one!

We're installing a huge 8,000L underground water tank on one of our new build sites at Mo Street, Plimmerton. At 7.7m long and 2.3m high, it's an absolute beast!

Once it's underground, you'll never see it again, but it'll be hard at work collecting rainwater for years to come.

It's always exciting watching the big gear in action!

A big shoutout to Coastal Diggers and Streamline Plumbing for making the installation look easy and getting it done without any drama. Awesome teamwork!

New job started in Lower Hutt. Garage coming down, deck coming out and Quality Demolition & Contracting (QDC) absolutely smashing it.

First time working with them and couldn’t be happier. What really stood out to us is their core value: keeping as much material out of landfill as possible by reducing waste, reusing resources, and recycling across every project.

Thanks Team QDC, legends!

A great milestone reflecting the relationships, projects, challenges and achievements over the past decade working alongside an incredible team, clients and industry partners.

For those who don’t know me, I’m Darren Sears, Director at Abode Homes, passionate about delivering quality homes, strong client relationships and practical building solutions throughout the Wellington region. I’m also proud to now be serving as Vice President of the Wellington Executive for the Master Builders Association.

It’s one of New Zealand’s most recognised building competitions, celebrating craftsmanship, quality, and outstanding homes across the country.

We’re incredibly excited to share that we’ve entered this beautiful home into the 2026 competition!
So much passion, detail, and teamwork has gone into bringing this project to life, and we’re proud to see it standing there looking amazing.

Now the countdown begins… we can’t wait for the results in August 2026!

Things are really starting to take shape on site.

Retaining walls are all done, and now we’re bringing in the hardfill to create a nice, flat platform ready for the build.

The crew and machines! have been going full throttle this week , plenty of action and progress to see.
