Hamilton East School | Project Showcase

Our first two-storey modular build is now complete!

Only three months onsite! A huge advantage for the school, minimising disruption while delivering four classrooms, two breakout spaces, two ablution blocks and a lift shaft across six modules.

Outside, we completed the decks, pergolas, structural stairs and an accessible ramp built to Ministry spec.

This isn't something you see every day, and is a testament to the versatility of modular construction.

A big thanks to Sasa at the Ministry of Education, Principal Pip and the team at Hamilton East School for trusting us with this project!

Irongate School | Project Showcase

A tight deadline and another project delivered!

We recently completed a new 3-classroom block for Irongate School, alongside a 4-WC and accessible-WC amenities block. Both were manufactured at our facility in Whangārei, Northland, before being transported to Hawke's Bay in four loads.

A great example of the efficiency and flexibility of modular construction.

Flaxmere Primary School | Project Showcase

Four teaching spaces, an amenities block and five truckloads from Whangārei to Hawke's Bay.

Designed by Modspace Homes and MOAA Architects, this one ran to a tight programme alongside two other projects. Extra hands, night shifts and weekend work got the classrooms and amenities built, transported and handed over on time.

Built for our children today. Adaptable for the next generation.

For 25 years, we've worked alongside the Ministry of Education to deliver classrooms to schools across the North Island.

From early childhood centres to tertiary facilities, we've helped create learning environments shaped around how each school teaches, grows, and operates, providing flexible, high-quality spaces with minimal disruption to busy school communities.

Few projects are more rewarding than creating spaces like these, and we're grateful to play a part in it.

🏗️ Great to see this project continuing to take shape at Camp Waipu Cove
With the deck now in place, the roof completed, and site works progressing, the new reception and entry area is really starting to come together.
Looking forward to seeing it ready to welcome guests ahead of the busy summer season.

Hamilton East School | Day Two

And the second storey is up!

We originally developed this two-storey modular design as our own innovation, creating a two-storey modular solution that’s still relatively uncommon in New Zealand. That design was then taken forward with the Ministry of Education and adapted for Hamilton East School.

Now, it's playing a part in helping reduce construction costs and allowing more classrooms to be delivered to schools that need them.

Faster construction means less disruption on site and more time for our kids to learn.

Hamilton East School | Day One

Throwback to last month, when the first of the new classrooms was craned into place at Hamilton East School as part of the Ministry of Education initiative announced by Education Minister Erica Stanford to deliver more classrooms across the Central North Island.

Great to see our concept and design taking shape on site and to be part of delivering more learning spaces for our community.

What began as a prototype in our yard is now taking shape as a two-storey modular classroom building at Hamilton East School!

Spread across two days, the installation involved three cranes courtesy of Universal Cranes New Zealand, working together to lift and position the modular units, with the entire first floor in place by the end of day one.

Once complete, the building will include an internal staircase and passenger lift, decks and canopies, kitchen and toilet facilities, and accessible amenities across both levels. It will also feature a warm roof system and CLT flooring, providing strong acoustic and thermal performance, as well as a good fire rating.

Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the project is a strong example of how modular construction can deliver complex buildings efficiently.
