Three works, three stories.

Antepasada — a reflection on colonization, identity, and the cultures that became part of who we are.
Togetherness — family, connection, and the quiet strength of sharing one space.
Fragment Moments — fragments of life, growth, and chaos slowly becoming harmony.

Different stories, but one common thread: memory, identity, and human connection. 🎨

And most importantly, thank you to the collector for giving these pieces a home and for allowing me to see them living in your space. It means a lot to me as an artist. 🙂🙏

WHISPER / ALAB
A study on the quietness of the sacred.

Not every encounter with the divine arrives as a revelation.
Sometimes, it comes as a whisper.
Sometimes, as a quiet flame.

WHISPER explores the subtle presence of the sacred—the kind that does not demand attention, but asks us to become still enough to notice. It is a gentle call, almost imperceptible, reminding us that not everything meaningful needs to be loud.

ALAB, on the other hand, speaks of a fire that does not destroy, but reveals. A presence that burns quietly within—felt deeply, even when unseen.

Together, the two works explore a simple question:

What if the sacred is not always found in the extraordinary, but in the moments we almost overlook?

Through texture, restraint, tension, and color, these paintings invite the viewer to slow down, listen, and look again.

This series is an invitation to pause.

Because every place has a story worth preserving. And every generation deserves to know where they came from. 🍃🎨

THE FLOATING SANCTUARY
The Finished Piece

Every line on paper has now become a lasting structure.

This project would not have been possible without the trust and opportunity given to me by Carl Maynard , whose vision first opened the door for this design. My deepest gratitude also goes to Mr. and Mrs. Mardy & Annabel Manlapaz, Chairpersons of the 2026 Fiesta Executive Committee, for believing in this proposal and allowing it to become a reality.

Your confidence in this design inspired our entire team to give nothing less than our best. What began as a concept evolved into months of planning, craftsmanship, and dedication—ultimately becoming a floating sanctuary that reflects our faith, culture, and devotion.

To everyone who contributed—the Executive Committee, our engineer, artisans, and volunteers —thank you for proving that when people share a common purpose, ideas can become something truly meaningful.

May this pagoda continue to serve our parish and become part of Apalit’s living heritage for many years to come.

Soli Deo Gloria.

THE JOURNEY OF CRAFTSMANSHIP AND THE ARTISANS

Construction began in April 2026, marking the start of a two-and-a-half-month journey of dedication, problem-solving, and craftsmanship.

When I first met with our leadman to present the project and walk him through the design, he was understandably hesitant. The structure was highly detailed and technically challenging, demanding precision, patience, and experience. But rather than stepping back, he embraced the challenge as an opportunity to test and elevate our team’s skills.

Our original plan was to clad the steel structure with PVC boards. However, the Executive Committee later decided to use GI sheets because of their lighter weight. At first, I thought an all-metal exterior would make construction easier. In reality, it became even more demanding. Every joint required meticulous fitting, and the welders had to perform full welds with exceptional accuracy and craftsmanship.

Despite every challenge, our team never compromised on quality. Each obstacle strengthened their experience, refined their techniques, and showcased the value of true craftsmanship.

That is why I call them artisans.

Not simply because they can weld or fabricate steel, but because they transformed lines on paper into a lasting structure through their knowledge, creativity, precision, and dedication.

This pagoda is more than a steel structure—it is a testament to the hands that built it. With proper care and storage, it will continue to serve for many years, carrying with it the story of the artisans whose craftsmanship made it possible.

“Great design begins on paper, but it is the hands of skilled artisans that give it life.”

Title: “Whisper”
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Size: 12” x 16”
