V***r barriers protect not only the building project itself but the people inside. Underslab v***r barrier plastic protects a building’s foundation from environmental damage caused by moisture, pests, and extreme temperatures.

There’s water in the ground underneath every building. The water is not always near the surface and therefore is invisible to a plain observer. Even if the concrete foundation is enough to keep water away from the building, water v***r can easily rise to the surface and damage a building’s foundation, subfloor, and main floor. A v***r barrier is crucial to protect a building from the many negative effects of water v***r on building materials.

Without a v***r barrier, concrete will deteriorate much faster through water v***r intrusion which degrades the quality of the concrete over time and can lead to failures.

Is a process where soil particles are pressed together, reducing the pore space between them. This is caused by external pressure from things like heavy machinery, leading to a denser soil with reduced water infiltration, air circulation, and a negative impact on plant growth.

In construction, compaction is intentionally used to create a stable foundation by increasing the soil's density and strength.

"Batter board" - temporary wooden frames constructed around a building's perimeter to support a layout lines(strings) that mark the precise corners and edges of the foundation.

How to build them?
1. Mark the corners.
2. Position batter boards.
3. Attach horizontal boards.
4. Level the boards.
5. Run the layout strings.
6. Mark the corners.
7. Mark footing locations.

Why is this important? Batter boards and strings provide a precise and stable reference for the entire foundation.
