A BEAUTIFUL DISASTER. Lake Camping video is up: https://youtu.be/KHGEBoUw_Y8 ππππ
Our travels this year have brought us more than just sights and adventures- it has created new connections with so many wonderful people from so many different places.
Over the course of the past few months, there has been so many instances of both chance interactions and spending time with those we had only chatted with before online. While this journey has been primarily the three of us exploring places as family, we cherish the days we have said yes to invitations to spend time getting to know others. These people we meet can inspire us, educate us and even brighten days in ways we didn't know we needed "Camping Budolβ, memories and so on and so forth. Thank you, Overland Pinas for the unexpected meetings turn out to be some of the best memories.
Sharing with you our overnight adventure to this not so secret place in Zambales - last April 30 to May 1. We went there with Overland Pinas group.
MAPANUEPE LAKE, New Zealand of Zambales
Address: Barangay Aglao, San Marcelino, Zambales
Contact Person / Guide: Reagan 0909-981-6998
Here are some guidelines and tips before you visit the place:
- Lake Mapanuepe is a private property. Make sure to contact a local guide before you head out in the campsite. We stayed at Phase 2. Less campers but a little far from the toilet so best to bring your portable shower, toilet and tent.
- Commonly asked question: Kaya po ba ng 4x2? Iβd still echo the collective recommendation: Go with a well equipped group, consult and get a guide, bring a 2 way radio, using a 4x2 with a fair amount of ground clearance is a great risk.
- ( Camping Solo ) If the weather is not good and your car is not 4x4 ready, make sure to ask for the trail condition of the place as chances of balahaw is real. We wonβt be recommending sedan because itβs very risky. But if youβre still up for an adventure and willing to take the risk of getting your car scratched or damaged (especially underneath) then go for it! Best way is to have 4x4 friend that can accompany you with recovery gears and with tour guide as well.
- Toilet near the tree house - Construction of additional toilet is ongoing when we went there.
- Thereβs a good water supply however, the water from the shower when we went there has smell.
- Thereβs Mini sari sari store, they sell buko juice and fruits
- Place is not wazeable
- Expect a lot of flying insects but when we went there gladly no mosquitoes
- No electricity and no signal in the campsite
- They also offer boat rides / tour. Ask the local guides around the area
- What to bring: portable toilet, shower tent, extra pegs as it gets windy during the day - off lotion, katol, lamps, string lights and head lamps
WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO BRING AND GIVE SOMETHING TO OUR DEAR KATUTUBO. OUR TRIP WAS A LITTLE SHORT BUT SWEET AS WE WERE ABLE TO SEE THOSE SMILE IN THEIR FACES BEFORE WE HEAD BACK HOME.
