AUTOMATED MUSHROOM PLANT

**********************************************

AUTOMATED MUSHROOM PLANT

The Automated Mushroom Plant is an industrial automation system designed to provide precise and consistent environmental conditions for mushroom cultivation. The system uses PLC-based control, sensors, HMI monitoring, and automated equipment to manage critical growing parameters and reduce the need for manual operation.

The automation system continuously monitors temperature, humidity, ventilation, and other required environmental conditions inside the mushroom growing rooms. Based on the programmed setpoints, the PLC automatically controls equipment such as fans, exhaust systems, humidifiers, water pumps, valves, and lighting to maintain the desired growing environment.

An HMI (Human-Machine Interface) provides operators with a user-friendly interface for monitoring actual process values, adjusting setpoints, selecting Auto/Manual operation, viewing equipment status, and responding to alarms.

Main Automation Features

* PLC-based automatic control system
* HMI monitoring and operator control
* Temperature monitoring and control
* Humidity monitoring and automatic control
* Automatic ventilation and exhaust control
* Water pump and humidification control
* Solenoid valve/actuator control
* Automatic Auto/Manual operating modes
* High/low temperature and humidity alarms
* Equipment status monitoring
* Timer and sequence-based operation
* Sensor fault and system alarm monitoring
* Data monitoring and trend display
* Safety interlocks and emergency-stop integration

System Operation

The PLC receives signals from the installed environmental sensors and compares the actual values with the configured setpoints. When the measured conditions deviate from the required range, the PLC automatically activates the appropriate equipment to correct the condition.

For example, when the temperature rises above the configured limit, the ventilation or cooling system can automatically operate. When humidity falls below the required setpoint, the humidification system or water pump can be activated. Once the desired conditions are reached, the equipment is automatically controlled according to the programmed sequence.

The system is designed to provide stable environmental control, improved process consistency, reduced manual intervention, and easier monitoring and troubleshooting throughout the mushroom cultivation process.

Automation Architecture

Sensors → PLC Controller → HMI → Control Equipment

Sensors provide real-time process feedback to the PLC. The PLC executes the programmed control logic and sends commands to the field equipment, while the HMI allows operators to monitor and control the entire system.

Mushroom Data Logging and Trend Graphs
For an Automated Mushroom Plant by JL AUTOMATION FREELANCER, data logging and trend graphs are used to monitor, record, and analyze the growing environment to help maintain suitable conditions for mushroom production.
1. What is data logging?
Data logging is the automatic recording of sensor readings at regular time intervals using a PLC, HMI, or SCADA system.
For example, sensors installed inside a mushroom growing room can measure:
Temperature (°C): Monitors the room's temperature.
Relative humidity (%RH): Monitors moisture in the air.
CO₂ concentration (ppm): Monitors carbon dioxide levels.
Fan status: Records whether ventilation is running.
Humidifier status: Records when misting or humidification is activated.
The PLC sends the sensor values to the HMI, which records the readings with timestamps for future reference.
2. What are trend graphs?
Trend graphs are visual representations of recorded data over time. They allow the operator to see whether temperature, humidity, and other environmental conditions are stable, increasing, or decreasing.
