Part 2 - Common mistake: nauuna sa “magkano” kesa sa “kaya ba ng bubong ko.” Pero ang totoo, dalawang bagay muna dapat i-check dito space at structure.

☀️ Roof area — Kailangan may sapat na open space ang bubong mo para ma-fit ang panels mo, hindi harang ng puno, water tank, o antenna. Mas malaki ang usable area, mas malaki rin ang potential na system size mo ibig sabihin, mas malaki rin ang potential savings.

🏠 Roof integrity — Kaya pa ba ng bubong mo ang weight at ang lifespan ng solar system (20+ years)? Kung luma na o may existing damage ang roofing mo, dapat ma-address muna bago pa isip-isip ang installation. Mag-solar sa mahinang bubong = malaking risk sa long run.

Kaya bago ka mag-decide: i-check muna ang roof condition at layout mo hindi lang ang presyo ng panels.

Part 1 - Things to consider before installation of solar

Zero bill?

Before you even think about price, dalawang tanong muna ang dapat masagot:

How much is your bill, talaga?
And when’s your peak usage day or night?

Just two numbers, but get these wrong, and you’ll end up with the wrong system. Too small hindi sapat. Too big sayang pera sa hindi mo naman magagamit.

So before you go solar:
📄 Check your last 3 months’ Meralco bill
⏰ Take note kung anong oras ka pinaka-gumagamit ng kuryente

That’s the real starting point. Not a guess. Not “sabi ng kapitbahay.”

May mga nagcomment na “hindi totoo yan, pa-publicity stunt lang.” Okay lang gets ko bakit kayo nagdududa. Sagutin natin ito ng numbers. 🧮

Common misconception akala ng marami, kapag pareho lang ang kWh na ginamit at na-export, zero na ang bill. Hindi pala ganito ang formula.

Tingnan natin:
478 kWh ang consumption sa rate na ₱15.89/kWh = ₱7,595 na dapat bayaran.

Pero 933 kWh ang na-export sa rate na ₱8.40/kWh = ₱7,837 na credit.

Bakit halos doble ang export kung ihahambing sa consumption? Kasi mas mababa ang export rate kaysa import rate. Hindi 1:1 ang kWh-to-kWh — piso-to-piso ang dapat tingnan.

Kaya kailangan mong mag-export ng humigit-kumulang 2x ng konsumo mo para ma-offset ang buong bill. Hindi gimmick. Hindi trick. Ito talaga ang net metering formula ng Meralco.
