OBANDO MANGROVE PARK

The month of July is recognized as National Disaster Resilience Month and National Environmental Awareness Month in the Philippines. The month focuses on disaster preparedness and coastal protection initiatives.
As part of the coastal preparedness and protection, LGUs around the country focus on mangrove-related initiatives, and we at DesignEIM made a proposal for a mangrove forest park that can help and sustain the ecological balance in coastal communities/municipalities like Obando, Bulacan.

By protecting the mangrove patch, the proposed park may help maintain the growing population of mangrove trees and also promote Eco-Tourism in the area and its neighboring Barangays. Also, mangrove forests can sustain and maintain the water quality of rivers, serve as a nursery for fish and other aquatic animals, protect from soil erosion, and make the place greener and healthier.

The proposed location of the park is currently planted with mature mangroves and seedlings. Besides the mangrove patch, there's a people’s park development and proposed reclamation for a housing project.

This is just a conceptual work. Our goal here is to give the government an option on how to maintain/sustain the environment while promoting eco-tourism in Obando. Let's all get together to build a better and greener Phillippines🌏
