Renovation projects, in particular, residential projects are considered challenging and difficult not only for the Architect/Contractor but also for the family residing in it. Along the way, not matter how prepared, hurdles will come up, and you can only be as ready. Everyone has to deal with whatever problem the project presents as it goes along. All have to be managed to a “T”. Scheduling, designing, re-arrangements, delays due to weather and/or other exterior forces.
This particular project, being originally built in the early 90’s has had a history on its own and also a pool of memories while being constructed. The team and I tried, and hopefully succeeded, in re-imagining a ‘matwang bale’ or the main house of our client’s old home, to something newer, something more pristine, but still keeping the heart of the home.
Cliché for me to say that me and team have poured our blood, sweat and tears into this project for the last couple of months, but we did. And besides, as an architect, I’ve always had soft spots for home renovations because you can see how it transforms all through out the process of the build. Another learning experience for me and the boys. Thank you for trusting us.
