Among our many social responsibility programs, one area we put special focus on is housing for disadvantaged families in areas where we operate. Our goal is to provide a sustainable model—where we not only give vulnerable families safe and decent homes, but also the chance to thrive, through gainful livelihood opportunities. This way, they can benefit from, and contribute to, the economic growth we’re helping to build. In recent years, our housing and livelihood model has benefited some 2,685 families throughout Bulacan, Bataan, Quezon province, Batangas, General Santos City, and South Cotabato. Our model community is our San Miguel-Christian Gayeta Homes in Sariaya, Quezon, which has 450 disaster-resilient homes. It also features the first San Miguel Market, a fishermen’s dock, and other facilities, managed by a cooperative composed of the village’s residents. With the help of partners such as TESDA, we also continuously provide them with skills and entrepreneurship training. There is so much more we can, and want to do. But for now, I want to show appreciation to our hard-working teams for helping transform these communities and uplift the lives of many Filipinos.
