When we first visited Ninong Ry’s studio, we weren’t even sure yet if ACODES would be the team to work on the new space.
At that time, we just wanted to observe, watch them in person, and understand how Team Ninong Ry actually uses the studio. How they move, shoot, cook, work, and create together.
Sakto, they were filming “Gawin Mo ‘To sa Sinigang” when we arrived. We were just on the side, watching, eating, talking with the team, and slowly getting a feel of their culture. Yung humor, chaos, teamwork, and the very real energy behind the videos people see online.
Since there was a chance we’d be designing the space, we knew we had to understand not just the studio itself, but the life happening inside it.
What started as an observation eventually felt more like kwentuhan than a meeting. That’s when we realized that their studio wasn’t just a workspace. It had its own identity, rhythm, and story.
We still remember Ninong Ry mentioning why having a window was important to him. To see the passage of time while cooking and telling stories. That small detail helped us understand the intention behind the space even more.
As the project continued, our “shoot days” also became project updates. Every visit gave us new insights on how the team actually works.
From the camera flow and storytelling, to kitchen workflow, equipment placement, cable management, editing needs, storage, logistics, and even where important personal items should be secured, every detail was tied to how the team moves daily.
That’s when it became clear to us. This wasn’t just about designing a studio.
It was about designing around the life, workflow, and rhythm of the whole team.
There are a lot of new elements in the studio now, but the goal was always to keep its essence. The warmth, the humor, the familiar details, and the realness people love about Team Ninong Ry.
Even the iconic yellow door stayed.
One thing Ninong Ry was clear about was leaving some blank spaces in the studio. He wanted the space to still have room to grow, evolve, and carry more stories over time.
Time to create new core memories. 🙏
Sobrang thankful kami to Ninong Ry, Team Ninong Ry, the suppliers, partners, and everyone behind the scenes who made this project possible.
We genuinely enjoyed the whole journey.
And honestly, we feel like we learned just as much as we contributed.
