Napansin niyo ba minsan na parang nag-iiba yung kulay or finish ng walls or natural stones over time?

Minsan may discoloration, moisture marks, or mold lalo na sa areas na exposed sa water or humidity.

In this reel, Ar. Anjo shares one of the sealers we’ve used in some ACODES projects, and why material protection is also something worth considering before issues start showing.

Not a sponsored post btw — just sharing something we’ve personally used and found helpful in some projects. 😄

Have you experienced this sa bahay or project nyo before?

When we first visited Ninong Ry’s studio, we weren’t even sure yet if ACODES would be the team to work on the new space.

At that time, we just wanted to observe, watch them in person, and understand how Team Ninong Ry actually uses the studio. How they move, shoot, cook, work, and create together.

Sakto, they were filming “Gawin Mo ‘To sa Sinigang” when we arrived. We were just on the side, watching, eating, talking with the team, and slowly getting a feel of their culture. Yung humor, chaos, teamwork, and the very real energy behind the videos people see online.

Since there was a chance we’d be designing the space, we knew we had to understand not just the studio itself, but the life happening inside it.

What started as an observation eventually felt more like kwentuhan than a meeting. That’s when we realized that their studio wasn’t just a workspace. It had its own identity, rhythm, and story.

We still remember Ninong Ry mentioning why having a window was important to him. To see the passage of time while cooking and telling stories. That small detail helped us understand the intention behind the space even more.

As the project continued, our “shoot days” also became project updates. Every visit gave us new insights on how the team actually works.

From the camera flow and storytelling, to kitchen workflow, equipment placement, cable management, editing needs, storage, logistics, and even where important personal items should be secured, every detail was tied to how the team moves daily.

That’s when it became clear to us. This wasn’t just about designing a studio.

It was about designing around the life, workflow, and rhythm of the whole team.

There are a lot of new elements in the studio now, but the goal was always to keep its essence. The warmth, the humor, the familiar details, and the realness people love about Team Ninong Ry.

Even the iconic yellow door stayed.

One thing Ninong Ry was clear about was leaving some blank spaces in the studio. He wanted the space to still have room to grow, evolve, and carry more stories over time.

Time to create new core memories. 🙏

Sobrang thankful kami to Ninong Ry, Team Ninong Ry, the suppliers, partners, and everyone behind the scenes who made this project possible.

We genuinely enjoyed the whole journey.

And honestly, we feel like we learned just as much as we contributed.

Sometimes good design isn’t about adding more.
Sometimes it’s about knowing what to remove, what to simplify, and what truly matters.

Na-curious din ba kayo sa solar ventilator after our last video? 😅

Since a lot of people asked about it, here’s Ar. Anjo with Sir Rana of Solar Attic Fan Philippines to explain what it actually does and how it helps your home.

To clarify: ACODES is an architectural firm, and we don’t supply the ventilators ourselves. But we work with trusted partners who can help assess, recommend, and install the right unit depending on your home’s needs.

In simple terms, a solar ventilator helps extract trapped heat inside your roof space. This can help make your home feel less hot and allow your air-conditioning system to cool the space more efficiently.

And no, hindi ibig sabihin na hindi mo na kailangan ng aircon. It simply helps reduce the trapped heat so your cooling system doesn’t have to work as hard.

For inquiries and proper assessment, you may connect with Solar Attic Fan Philippines and look for Sir Rana for an ocular inspection.

Usually, bago pa natin matikman yung food, yung space muna ang unang napapansin natin.

For Palm Grill’s NAIA Terminal 3 branch, ACODES brought the same colorful, warm, and proudly Southern Mindanaoan identity of Palm Grill into a fast-paced airport setting.

Led by Chef Miggy, Palm Grill is a Michelin Bib Gourmand–recognized restaurant, and the first Mindanaoan restaurant to receive this recognition. A big step forward for a region that’s often overlooked in the local culinary scene.

That’s why this project felt extra meaningful. More than just serving food, Palm Grill is sharing a culture, a story, and an experience.

Since nasa food court siya, hindi lang siya basta “pagandahin.” Every detail had to consider the flow of people, the comfort of customers, and how the staff can move and work efficiently. But at the same time, kailangan pa rin maramdaman yung identity ng brand through the space.

As Ar. Anjo shares in this walkthrough, design plays a big role in how people first connect with a place. Minsan, visuals talaga yung unang hook bago pa dumating yung service and food.

So if you’re passing by NAIA Terminal 3, don’t miss the chance to visit Palm Grill: Authentic Cuisine from South of Mindanao on Facebook / on Instagram, and experience Southern Mindanaoan cuisine for yourself.

And yes, highly recommended daw ang halo-halo. 😄

Deeper into the home, everything becomes quieter.

The private spaces are made for real rest—where the pace slows down, the noise fades, and you can finally just be. No distractions, no excess—just a sense of ease the moment you step in.

These are the spaces you don’t rush through. You stay a little longer, sleep a little deeper, and wake up feeling lighter.

Soft, warm, and unhurried—exactly how rest should feel.

Designed by ACODES.

Today, we honor the people who continue to show up and do their work with honesty, skill, and integrity.

Happy Labor Day.

A quick walkthrough of CONEX 2026 with Ar. Anjo. 👷‍♂️

Held alongside the National Convention of Architects last April 16–18, CONEX brings together different brands, suppliers, materials, and technologies in the construction and design industry.

For ACODES, visits like this are also part of how we stay updated. Hindi lang para makita kung ano ang bago, but to explore materials and solutions that we can potentially apply to future projects.

Because good design also means staying curious, learning continuously, and knowing what’s possible beyond the usual.

One thing to consider when buying fixtures or appliances for your home: try to see and experience them in person.

Sometimes we focus too much on measurements or specs. But “sakto” doesn’t only mean the size fits the space.

It can also mean asking:

Is it practical for your daily routine?

Does it match how you actually use the space?

Is it aligned with your lifestyle?

For example, not everyone needs a large kitchen sink. For some households, a smaller one works perfectly, depending on how they cook, clean, and use the kitchen.

Seeing it in person helps you imagine how it will actually work in your home—beyond just the dimensions on paper.

Init na init na ba kayo sa bahay? 😅

Here’s a quick video from Ar. Anjo sharing 5 simple considerations we apply when designing homes to help keep them cooler, especially with the kind of heat we’ve been experiencing lately.

From proper airflow and landscaping, to even small details like paint color and shading, malaking bagay talaga sila long-term.

Hindi siya laging agad napapansin, pero these are the kinds of details that really make a difference in how comfortable a space feels.

Hindi lang kasi basta ganda ang iniisip sa design—kasama rin dapat yung comfort, function, and kung paano mas magiging maayos tumira sa space araw-araw.

Sa inyo, ano yung pinaka-effective na way para mas mapresko ang bahay?
