Safety Tips to prevent Electrical Fire

Remember ELECTRICAL WIRING IS NOT FOREVER!

What to do: An ounce of prevention is more than a pound of cure.

Observe sudden increase in your electricity bill. Ground fault causes increase electricity bill that may be a cause of electrical fire if not isolated immediately

Blown fuse and Circuit breaker trip may be due to short circuit. Have your wiring system immediately checked by a Registered Electrical Engineer. Remember Short Circuit is a lot more hazardous than overload.

Appliances are sources of fire if not tested periodically. Heating up of appliances beyond normal temperature may result in fire. Unplug and have it checked by a Registered Electrical Engineer.

Blinking of lights even if the switched is off may be ground fault. Consult REE immediately before it's too late.

Absence of electrical plan may be an indicator for substandard installation. Have your electrical wiring inspected by a licensed electrical engineer.

Check electrical plan if it has a signature of a Registered Electrical Engineer. Beware of stamp pad signature Electrical plan. Have it rechecked by an REE.

Absence of grounding and bonding in your service equipment is dangerous. Consult a registered electrical engineer.

Ask your Registered Electrical Engineer if your electrical wiring still complies with the latest edition of the Philippine Electrical Code.

Always ask for the PRC ID and verify in PRC WEBSITE.

Failure to follow the above instructions may result in fire, serious injury, electrocution or tragic death.
