LOOK | FIRE DETECTION AND ALARM SYSTEM
Based on the Fire Code of the Philippines (RA 9514) and its Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (RIRR), a Fire Detection and Alarm System (FDAS) is an integrated fire protection system required by RA 9514 (Fire Code of the Philippines) that automatically or manually detects fire conditions and provides audible and visual warning signals to occupants and emergency responders, enabling prompt evacuation and fire response.
During a fire safety inspection, the following is required for an FDAS to be accepted by the BFP:
• A secondary power supply, and a battery back-up incase of power interruptions
• FDAS that are relative to plans are signed and sealed by a Professional Electrical Engineer (P*E) or Professional Electronics and Communication Engineer (PECE).
