MARIGOMEN HOUSE
Project Status: Contract Document Phase
Location: Pamintao Village, Bogo City, Cebu
Nestled in the heart of Bogo City, the Marogimen House is a complete transformation of a family home originally built in the 1970s. What began as a renovation proposal soon evolved into an entirely new vision. Upon thorough assessment with our engineers, we discovered that the existing structure would require extensive retrofitting to meet modern structural standards, especially in consideration of earthquake resilience. With this, rebuilding the home became the most practical and meaningful solution for the family.
The clients envisioned a private sanctuary — a home that feels more spacious, functional, and deeply personal compared to their previous residence. Our goal was to create a space that reflects not only elegance and comfort, but also the warmth and humility of the family who will live in it.
The exterior embraces a timeless Mediterranean-inspired design, bringing a sense of sophistication, character, and warmth to the property. Inside, however, we intentionally kept the interiors minimal and refined, allowing the spaces to feel calm, welcoming, and authentic to the client’s down-to-earth lifestyle. Every detail was carefully designed to reflect their values and way of living.
With the lot elevated by approximately 1.5 meters, the site itself inspired the architectural flow of the home. We designed the carport at the lower level, creating a cascading staircase experience that gracefully leads toward the main entrance. The interiors open into a spacious living area, while the kitchen and dining spaces are highlighted by a high ceiling that enhances light, volume, and openness.
To maximize the irregular lot configuration without compromising the family’s spatial requirements, we incorporated a mezzanine concept into the design. The lower level accommodates two bedrooms with a shared toilet and bath, while the upper mezzanine level houses the master suite complete with its own walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom.
Marogimen House is more than just a residence — it is a carefully curated home designed to embody comfort, elegance, and belonging.
A Mediterranean concept continues to prove timeless in residential architecture, offering not only luxurious exterior appeal, but also a warmth and character that make every home feel truly inviting.
