Basic Tips sa Residential Electrical Wiring (PEC-Based)

✅ Sundin ang Philippine Electrical Code (PEC 2017) para mas ligtas at mas maayos ang wiring.

1.) Proper Wire Sizing –
Gumamit ng tamang wire size ayon sa load.
*Ref: PEC 2017 Part 1, 2.10.2.2(A)(1)

2.) Correct Circuit Protection –
Tamang breaker/fuse dapat naka-match sa load.
*Ref: PEC 2017 Part 1, Art. 2.40

3.) Grounding and Bonding –
Lahat ng metal parts ay dapat grounded.
*Ref: PEC 2017 Part 1, Art. 2.50

4.) Receptacle Placement –
Walang point sa wall line na higit sa 1.8 m mula sa receptacle.
*Ref: PEC 2017 Part 1, 2.10.52(A)(1)

5.) Kitchen & Bathroom Safety –
Gumamit ng GFCI sa basang lugar (bathroom, kitchen countertop, outdoor).

6.) Color Coding of Wires –
• Neutral: White o Gray
• Ground: Green, Green/Yellow o Bare
• Line/Hot: Any other color

7.) Junction Boxes –
Lahat ng splices at taps dapat nasa covered junction box.

8.) Lighting Circuits –
Dapat may wall switch sa pasukan ng bawat kwarto.

9.) Panel Board Clearance –
Panatilihin ang 0.9 m (3 ft.) clearance sa harap ng panel.

10.) Weatherproofing – Gumamit ng weatherproof receptacles at enclosures sa outdoor/wet locations.

Importante ang tamang pag-install ng electrical system sa bahay man o sa commercial buildings dahil ito ang pundasyon ng kaligtasan at tibay ng kabuuang electrical network. Narito ang mga pangunahing dahilan:

1. Kaligtasan laban sa sunog at aksidente.

Ang maling pagkakabit ng kable o overloading ng circuit ay maaaring magdulot ng short circuit, spark, o sunog.

Ang tamang pag-install ay nakasisiguro na maayos ang insulation, grounding, at protection devices tulad ng circuit breakers.

2. Matatag at maayos na supply ng kuryente.

Ang maayos na pagkaka-design at pagkaka-install ng wiring ay nakatutulong para maiwasan ang voltage drop, power loss, at electrical noise na maaaring makaapekto sa appliances.

3. Mas mahaba ang buhay ng mga electrical devices.

Kapag tama ang koneksyon at load distribution, hindi nasisira agad ang mga appliances at equipment dahil sa stable ang supply ng kuryente.

4. Madaling maintenance at troubleshooting.

Ang maayos na pagkaka-layout at labeling ng electrical system ay nakatutulong para mabilis mahanap at maayos ang problema kung sakaling may aberya.

5. Pagsunod sa Electrical Code at Standards.

Ang tamang pag-install ay dapat sumusunod sa Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) o iba pang applicable standards upang matiyak na ligtas ang system.

Ang tamang pag-install ng electrical system ay hindi lang tungkol sa pagpapailaw o pagpapagana ng appliances, kundi tungkol sa proteksyon ng buhay, ari-arian, at kalidad ng gawa sa Electrical System.
