Telecom Companies of Pakistan i.e Jazz, Zong, and Telenor have all increased rates of calls and data packages.

According to Sources, The companies have increased their super load from Rs. 50 to Rs. 100. Different internet and data packages have been increased from Rs. 10 to Rs. 25. Similarly, rates of monthly call packages have also been increased. The rates of monthly call packages have been increased from Rs. 40 to Rs. 100. Weekly all-in-one package rates have been increased from Rs. 10 to Rs. 20.

Previously, Withholding tax was imcreaced in minibudget from 10 percent to 15 percent against the wish of the telecom sector.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has proposed to impose sales tax worth Rs350 billion on a wide range of items including 17 percent sales tax on the import of LPG, mobile phones, computers, plant, machinery/equipment, and a lower rate of sales tax on the import of raw materials used in the manufacturing of medicines under the Tax Laws (Fourth) Amendment Bill, 2021.

Sources told that the 17 percent sales tax has been proposed to be imposed on a number of goods at the import stage and domestic supplies. The withdrawal of the sales tax exemptions of Rs350 billion would result in the imposition of the sales tax on a number of exempted goods at the import stage, as well as, local supply.

The tax will have an inflationary impact, which will be passed immediately on to the consumers in the form of an increase of 17 percent in the prices of the items.

WhatsApp has finally released a long-awaited functionality that allows users to move their chat history between Android and iOS devices. Many users have been waiting for this feature, which would make switching accounts across Android and iOS phones much easier.

Samsung Galaxy smartphones are the first to be released. While the transfer option was already present in WhatsApp Beta for select users, it is now available to all users – but it requires nothing less than a wire.

Users must connect their old and new devices through a USB-C to Lightning connector and run Smart Switch to use the feature. The new phone will then ask you to use your old phone to scan a QR code and export your WhatsApp history. Sign into WhatsApp on the new smartphone and import the messages to finish the transfer.

The first thing to remember is that the method only works from an iPhone to an Android device, not the other way around. Only Galaxy smartphones are now compatible with the new feature, meaning you won’t be able to move your talks to non-Samsung phones even if you have an Android phone.
