Design Narrative
Situated on a corner plot with dual road access and a family park directly in front, this residential project explores the relationship between built form and open space.
The design process begins with a simple massing strategy, where a primary volume is established and then strategically carved to introduce a central courtyard. This intervention allows natural light and ventilation to pe*****te deep into the interior spaces, enhancing spatial quality and environmental performance.
The courtyard acts as the heart of the house, organizing surrounding spaces while maintaining visual connectivity between key areas such as the dining, kitchen, study, and children’s rooms.
Further volumetric refinements generate terraces, openings, and transitional spaces that respond to the site context and climatic conditions. The final composition achieves a balance between privacy and openness, solid and void, and light and materiality — resulting in a residence that breathes and evolves throughout the day.
