Heatwave in Pakistan: Temperature expected to continue soaring in the coming week.
Pakistan hit the temperature of 49.5 °C (120.2 °F) in Nawabshah on May 1, so far, the highest recorded temperature on Earth in 2022.
The heat spell is predicted to engulf and affect the whole country with temperatures rising above normal in most regions.
It might also negatively affect vegetation, crops, birds and animals and could lead to environmental disasters, electricity and water shortage.
The heat wave is more likely to affect elderly, children, patients and outdoor workers however, it can easily affect the relatively healthy individuals as well.
Kindly take the following measures to avoid any health issues and unpleasant mishaps:
• Avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight.
• Check weather forecast before stepping out of the house.
• Ensure that no inflammable material is left out in the sun or in cars.
• Avoid cramped and crowded vehicles.
• Keep yourself hydrated. Drink plenty of water and liquids.
• Wear a hat, cap, sunglasses or use an umbrella.
• Put out water for birds and animals.
• Avoid wastage of of water and electricity.
