What to do when a client delays payment
1. Stop work politely
Do not continue drawings, revisions, or site visits until the payment is cleared. When work stops, payment usually comes faster.
2.Send a professional reminder
Message them clearly and politely. Example:
"Kind reminder regarding the pending payment. We will continue the next phase once the payment is cleared."
3. Follow the agreement
Refer to the payment milestone mentioned in the contract. This shows that it's a professional process, not a personal request.
4. Avoid too many free revisions
Sometimes clients delay because work keeps happening anyway. Pause revisions until payment is received.
5.Set the culture early
In the beginning itself make it clear:
Payment milestone → Then next work stage.
Strong rule for designers:
Respect your work first, then clients will respect your payment terms. 💼 🌟
