🌿 Today, briefly, not about individual plants, but about a special place. Memories from last week's trip through a section of Sweden, as part of ISU International Perennial Society Summer Days 2026:
Vargaslätten – an absolutely unique place! With its unique microclimate, incredibly interesting history connected to the Arts & Crafts movement, the enigmatic figure of Mr. Sigfried Ericsson, and above all, the passion and respect Mr. Gerben Tjeerdsma gave this place, restoring its soul to the forgotten park-garden.
The photos showing the overall view (wider frames) may not capture the charm of this special place, but I think all the participants of this trip, in addition to admiring the work done there, both intellectual and physical, remarked on the exceptionally good feeling it brought. It's definitely a place I'd like to return to at different times of the year.
