We are finalising a new contract for the design and fabrication of a skid-based wastewater treatment system for an incineration plant processing household waste. ♻️

The system is engineered to treat scrubber effluent, ensuring the safe and reliable removal of toxic heavy metals - most critically mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), and chromium (Cr) - so that the treated water can be discharged safely and in full compliance with environmental regulations.

♻️ Beverage plant by-product treatment? With ESMIL Process Systems, you’ll do it better!

Beverage by-product is a valuable resource, serving as an excellent substrate for anaerobic digestion used in energy production, as well as a valuable component of animal feed. To fully unlock its energy and economic potential, proper treatment and effective product recovery processes are essential, allowing for an increased concentration of beverage by-product prior to fermentation. 📈

This project is the result of a collaboration between Esmil Process Systems and our long-time partner, ZwitterCo, Inc., a supplier of innovative and efficient membranes. 🤝

💡 Smart Solutions for Beverage by-product from Esmil Process Systems

Esmil’s system combines mechanical pre-treatment with advanced superfiltration (SF) and reverse osmosis (RO), delivering high efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and creating added business value by transforming beverage by-products into valuable resources.

⚙️ How does it work?
The system consists of 4 modules, each responsible for a specific stage of the process:

1️⃣ Mechanical pre-treatment - removes large debris with a fine-mesh Rotary Drum Screen, making the flow suitable for further treatment while protecting equipment and boosting efficiency.

2️⃣ Superfiltration (SF) - ultrafiltration membranes remove fine solids from the stream, turning the retained solid fraction into a valuable resource - feedstock for animal feed or anaerobic digestion.

3️⃣ Reverse Osmosis (RO) - concentrates dissolved organic compounds from ultrafiltered water, producing purified water for reuse or discharge. The RO concentrate is combined with the UF concentrate, creating more valuable feedstock with enhanced energy and nutrient content.

4️⃣ Automatic cleaning system - runs periodic cycles as needed, removing contaminants to ensure efficient and reliable operation.

Our membrane supplier, ZwitterCo, provides durable Superfiltration membranes designed for tough streams like beverage by-product, delivering high quality and recovery - key for system stability and performance. 🔧

The Esmil Process Systems solution offers an efficient, eco-friendly way to treat beverage plant by-product - recovering resources as energy and animal feed ingredients. Using SF and RO, treated water can be safely reused or discharged, reducing environmental impact and supporting sustainability in the beverage industry.
