Heavy table, featuring a 2.1m × 1.2m top in 40mm solid oak…The base frame is constructed using mortise and tenon joinery, giving the piece both considerable weight and an even greater sense of presence…Inlaid 90° steel sections ensure the tabletop remains perfectly flat for the long haul..

High-stool weather ☔️
Ash seat on an ash base, held together with through mortise tenons and oak wedges to snug everything up properly. Solid 50mm ash top, with a dainty little oak inlay for character. Finished off with a simple coat of beeswax……….

🚪 Oak door block complete and living a good life… Solid 40mm laminated slab door. I’ve taken care with the glue up by paying attention to grain orientation and board width on each side of the door… This door lining is the simple door stop style (next one I think I’ll do a shouldered frame). Architrave to fit once a design for the top opening is agreed and fitted….not too shabby is it.. # bespoke

More oak again, this time I had the joy of building a fine vanity unit as part of a full bathroom makeover. Highest quality grade A french oak from top to bottom. The unit is well oiled and well minded, with the same care put into the hidden parts as the ones on show. Finished with a refined Tung oil treatment, chosen for its durability and natural enhancement of the timber…….❤️one happy chippy❤️………………………….

Naming this the hopefully door…….It’s some lump. Solid 40mm oak door, built by bonding two faces together with alternating grain to keep her steady(hopefully no.1) The joints are neatly staggered to help tame any movement(hopefully no.2) also added breadboard ends for both design and to keep the faces good and flat(hopefully no.3)…….She’s got plenty of weight to her, the kind of door that closes with authority. Have to fit an extra hinge or two to make sure she hangs as gracefully as she looks…….

A grand oak workhorse altogether! Oak from top to toe — if they made oak screws, I’d have lashed those in too…………..The old-school filing cabinet handles have a bit of their own personality, each one a little different.Hand-crafted in Morocco, would ya believe it?…….. Building this desk from scratch has been so rewarding — pure graft and a bit of magic thrown in!………………………

Beautiful five drawer oak workbench in the works..Drawers have a 40mm oak front and dovetail construction on the drawer boxes. These drawer rails have a load rating of 60kg, serious fabrication…. This bench is going to a ceramics workshop once complete…. Nearly there…….
