CASA DOS INTERVALOS

Uma casa desenhada a partir da relação entre forma, espaço e tempo.

Implantada longitudinalmente num terreno estreito e profundo, a Casa dos Intervalos organiza-se num volume extenso e fragmentado, onde as quebras de alinhamento aproximam os espaços interiores da envolvente exterior.

Entre a casa, o jardim e a piscina, surgem momentos de pausa, transição e encontro. São intervalos que acolhem, conectam e prolongam a experiência de habitar para além dos limites interiores.

A sul, os vãos envidraçados e a pala de sombreamento criam uma relação direta com a luz, a piscina e a área ajardinada, dando forma a uma vivência serena, contínua e aberta ao exterior.

INTERVALS HOUSE

A house designed through the relationship between form, space and time.

Longitudinally positioned on a narrow and deep plot, Casa dos Intervalos is organised as an extended and fragmented volume, where shifts in alignment bring the interior spaces closer to the surrounding exterior.

Between the house, the garden and the swimming pool, moments of pause, transition and encounter emerge. These intervals welcome, connect and extend the experience of dwelling beyond the interior boundaries.

To the south, the glazed openings and the shading canopy create a direct relationship with light, the pool and the landscaped area, shaping a serene, continuous way of living, open to the outside.

A série Cromática da Revigrés tem estado presente em projetos distintos do nosso atelier, como no painel da Sagiper I, obra já concluída , e em revestimentos interiores da Casa Mélias, atualmente em construção.

Mais do que revestir superfícies, a cerâmica pode assumir um papel expressivo na identidade dos espaços — pela cor, pela textura, pela escala e pela forma como dialoga com a arquitetura.

We were invited by Revigrés to visit its factory and showroom — a moment of proximity with the material, the production process and the possibilities of ceramic surfaces in architecture.

At Frari, we believe that every project is also built through these relationships: with materials, partners and solutions that help shape spaces.

Revigrés’ Cromática series has been used in different projects by our studio, including the Sagiper I panel, already completed, as in interior coverings of Casa Mélias, currently under construction.

More than covering surfaces, ceramics can play an expressive role in the identity of spaces — through colour, texture, scale and the way they interact with architecture.

ANIMA II
— da intenção à transformação.

Depois da apresentação do projeto, damos agora início a uma nova etapa: a preparação do terreno e os primeiros trabalhos em obra.

A demolição marca o momento em que o existente começa a dar lugar a uma nova estrutura, pensada para acolher uma Clínica de Saúde Mental em Aveiro. Um processo exigente, técnico e cuidadosamente coordenado, onde cada fase é essencial para tornar possível a construção do novo volume.

Neste lugar, a arquitetura começa antes da construção visível: começa na leitura do contexto, na gestão da complexidade urbana e na transformação responsável do espaço.

A ANIMA II está em obra.

Porque também a partir da desconstrução se constrói futuro.

ANIMA II
— from intention to transformation.

After presenting the project, we now begin a new stage: site preparation and the first works on site.

Demolition marks the moment when the existing structure begins to give way to a new building, designed to house a Mental Health Clinic in Aveiro. A demanding, technical and carefully coordinated process, where each phase is essential to make the new volume possible.

Here, architecture begins before the visible construction: it begins with reading the context, managing urban complexity and transforming space responsibly.

ANIMA II is now under construction.

Because the future can also be built through deconstruction.

Estivemos temporariamente encerrados para renovar o nosso espaço, mas já estamos de volta.

Reabrimos com um ambiente revitalizado, preparado para acolher novas ideias, novos desafios e projetos cada vez mais criativos.

We were temporarily closed to renovate our space, but we are now back.

We have reopened with a revitalised environment, ready to welcome new ideas, new challenges and increasingly creative projects.

CASA PEIXE
— nova versão

Na nova configuração da Casa Peixe, a fachada tardoz transforma-se num elemento de transição entre a habitação e o pátio.

O padrão em escama, reinterpretado a partir da identidade da fachada original, surge agora como uma superfície perfurada que filtra a luz, protege a intimidade e desenha sombras ao longo do dia. Mais do que um revestimento, esta segunda pele estabelece uma relação entre memória e contemporaneidade, prolongando para o interior do lote a linguagem que distingue a casa no contexto urbano.

CASA PEIXE
— new Version

In the revised design of Casa Peixe, the rear façade becomes a transitional element between the house and the courtyard.

Reinterpreted from the identity of the original façade, the fish-scale pattern now forms a perforated surface that filters light, protects privacy, and casts changing shadows throughout the day. More than a cladding element, this second skin creates a dialogue between memory and contemporary architecture, extending the house’s distinctive visual language into the interior of the plot.

CASA DO CARMO

Uma casa compacta, desenhada a partir do essencial: conforto, luz natural e continuidade entre interior e exterior.

Implantada longitudinalmente num terreno estreito, a Casa do Carmo organiza-se num volume simples e coeso, procurando tirar partido da melhor exposição solar e criar uma relação próxima com o jardim. A moradia estende-se para além dos seus limites interiores através de pérgolas em madeira, que desenham zonas de sombra, proteção e permanência.

A madeira, o branco e o verde envolvente constroem uma linguagem serena, onde a simplicidade formal valoriza o conforto quotidiano e a ligação ao ambiente rural da Gafanha do Carmo.

CARMO HOUSE

A compact house, designed from the essentials: comfort, natural light, and continuity between interior and exterior.

Longitudinally positioned on a narrow plot, Casa do Carmo is organised as a simple and cohesive volume, seeking to make the most of solar exposure while creating a close relationship with the garden. The house extends beyond its interior boundaries through wooden pergolas, which define areas of shade, protection, and permanence.

Wood, white surfaces, and the surrounding greenery build a serene architectural language, where formal simplicity enhances everyday comfort and the connection to the rural setting of Gafanha do Carmo.

CASA ALMA VERDE

A arquitetura começa a revelar-se nos detalhes que fazem a casa respirar: a luz que percorre os espaços, a continuidade entre interior e exterior, a presença da madeira, a textura das paredes e a forma como a paisagem entra naturalmente na vivência da casa.

Na Casa Alma Verde, o desenho procura esse equilíbrio entre abrigo e abertura. Uma casa pensada para viver o Algarve com serenidade, onde a piscina, os pátios, os vãos envidraçados e a envolvente verde constroem uma atmosfera de conforto, privacidade e permanência.

Mais do que uma imagem final, estes novos renders aproximam-nos da experiência que o projeto quer criar: uma casa tranquila, luminosa e profundamente ligada ao lugar.

ALMA VERDE HOUSE

Architecture begins to reveal itself through the details that make a house breathe: the light moving through the spaces, the continuity between inside and outside, the warmth of wood, the texture of the walls and the way the landscape naturally becomes part of everyday living.

In Alma Verde House, the design seeks a balance between shelter and openness. A home designed to experience the Algarve with serenity, where the pool, patios, glazed openings and surrounding greenery create an atmosphere of comfort, privacy and permanence.

More than a final image, these new renders bring us closer to the experience the project aims to create: a calm, luminous home, deeply connected to its setting.

CASA DA PÉRGOLA
— a obra avança e o projeto começa a revelar a sua espacialidade

Depois da leitura exterior, marcada pela estrutura que envolverá a casa e pela relação com o jardim, entramos agora numa fase em que os interiores começam a ganhar definição.

As paredes brancas, os vãos amplos, a entrada de luz natural e os primeiros elementos de carpintaria e equipamento técnico deixam antever a transformação da moradia: uma reabilitação que preserva a memória da pré-existência, mas a reorganiza para uma vivência mais fluida, luminosa e contemporânea.

No exterior, os trabalhos continuam a preparar a futura relação com a pérgola, o percurso de acesso e o logradouro. No interior, cada detalhe construtivo aproxima a casa da sua nova forma de habitar.

A Casa da Pérgola segue em obra, entre estrutura, luz e continuidade.

PÉRGOLA HOUSE
— construction is progressing, and the project is beginning to reveal its spatial character

After presenting the exterior concept, defined by the structure that will embrace the house and its relationship with the garden, we now enter a stage where the interiors start to take shape.

White surfaces, generous openings, natural light, and the first carpentry and technical elements begin to reveal the transformation of the house: a rehabilitation that preserves the memory of the existing building while reorganising it for a more fluid, bright, and contemporary way of living.

Outside, the work continues to prepare the future relationship with the pergola, the access path, and the outdoor areas. Inside, each construction detail brings the house closer to its new way of being inhabited.

Casa da Pérgola continues to take shape, between structure, light, and continuity.

PÉRGOLA

Entre luz e sombra, a pérgola desenha o espaço. E reaparece nos nossos projetos como um gesto contínuo.

Em diferentes projetos, a mesma intenção: estruturas leves que organizam o exterior e prolongam a arquitetura para além dos limites construídos.

Mais do que proteção solar, é estrutura, ritmo e espaço de transição.

Between light and shadow, the pergola defines the space. And it reappears in our projects as a recurring motif.

Across different projects, the same intention: lightweight structures that organize the outdoors and extend the architecture beyond the built boundaries.

More than just sun protection, it is structure, rhythm, and a transitional space.

Foi um prazer marcar presença nos Prémios Nacionais de Reabilitação Urbana 2026, este ano na nossa terra — na Vista Alegre, em Ílhavo — num lugar que nos diz tanto.

Entre conversas, reencontros e trocas de ideias, foi uma ótima ocasião para partilhar experiências e continuar a enriquecer esta rede de contactos e inspirações que faz crescer o setor.

It was a pleasure to attend the 2026 National Urban Rehabilitation Awards, held this year in our hometown — at Vista Alegre in Ílhavo — a place that means so much to us.

Amid conversations, reunions, and exchanges of ideas, it was a wonderful opportunity to share experiences and continue to enrich this network of connections and inspiration that drives the sector’s growth.
