co·rp arquitetos Practice of Multiple Architecture The search for reason is the real fascination, synthesizing architecture in its own essence and almost primitive state.

Thus, we seek in our projects to reflect a sense of wholeness, in which the context, function, construction, composition and heritage become one. However, co.rp's intention is not necessarily to convey a specific concept of unity or idiosyncrasy, but to take advantage of the conditions of the place through a logical view. These realities converted into architectural form allow life to occur in all its complexity.

House in Douro revisited, 2026

The house is conceived from its roof. An exposed timber structure of trusses and beams extends continuously over living spaces, bedrooms and service areas, becoming the element that unifies the whole.

Beneath it, the programme is organised around a central white volume containing the kitchen and bathroom. Acting as a hinge between the social and private areas, this core frees the perimeter and allows the main spaces to open directly onto the orchard.

The openings are understood as precise cuts in the enclosure, bringing the orange grove, the dry-stone wall and the surrounding landscape into the domestic space.

Wide timber floorboards run continuously throughout the house, establishing a material relationship with the raw finish of the walls and the cream ceramic surfaces of the bathroom.

The construction is reduced to three primary materials, allowing light and landscape to become part of the architecture itself.

Lagoa de Albufeira, 2026

Rooted in a sensitive reading of its coastal surroundings, this intervention reimagines perimetral outdoor spaces of a family home in Lagoa da Albufeira as a seamless extension enabling comfortable everyday use in its exterior.

Rather than laying out rigid pathways, the proposed natural terra-cotta pavement cladding expands and climate-resilient vegetation contract and expand organically to define distinct zones for dining, bathing, lounging and gathering.

The pre-existing porched structure is transformed into a flexible Garden Pavilion, opening and closing through green metal shutters to adapt to sun and wind conditions.

Houses in Rogil, 2025

The pre-existing volume takes full advantage of solar orientation, shaping compartments that connect outdoors through terraces sheltered by lightweight structures.

Inside, the atmosphere is one of pure spaciousness. The exposed timber ceiling contrasts with the texture of the smoothed concrete floor and the serenity of the white walls, while generous openings frame the landscape.

The spatial organization is refined into central cores and integrated woodwork that articulate the living spaces. Externally, the rehabilitated facade anchors the identity of the place: balanced between the memory of the pre-existence and the contemporary gesture, and matter is given back to the landscape.

Pereiro II, 2026

Sharing the same plot as Pereiro I, the project occupies its counterpart: leaving the intimacy of the fig orchard to engage directly with the site’s public edge. This public proximity and presence of the neighboring houses call for privacy. The natural south–north orientation frames a landscape that unfolds from the vineyards towards the Caramulo mountain range.

Two solid structural walls integrate structure, function and infrastructure, liberating a continuous living space between interior, exterior and landscape. Resting on a concrete plinth that extends towards the valley, the house opens entirely to the north, culminating in a small reflecting pool that reinforces the site’s primary visual axis.

Above, the private rooms rest upon this structural order, deepening the sense of immersion. The building is intended as a single spatial, functional and constructive system, allowing life to unfold in close dialogue with the territory.

Chança Guest House, 2024

The proposal seeks to embrace the two buildings, weaving the existing threads of their structure into a tapestry of modern living. With the original slab absent on the second floor, a new wooden form rises, crafting a mezzanine that whispers of elevation. This wooden heart cradles the staircase, also of wood, leading upwards, while the stairwell itself becomes a quiet haven for storage, nurturing the kitchen and tending to the home’s needs. This mezzanine breathes life into the compact abode, unfurling its arms to offer a sense of space and comfort.

Houses in Marvão, 2025

The house retains its two-story layout but is designed as a unified whole, tailored to the needs of a family. Its stone construction and the rugged topography - far from the urban center - allow this project to blend harmoniously into the unique landscape of the Serra de Marvão.
The layout is organized around the vertical element connecting the two floors - the staircase. On the ground floor, this element divides the living room and dining area. On the upper floor, the staircase, in contrast to the lower floor, serves as a unifying element, allowing this area to be used as a multipurpose space for the children to enjoy.
The old oven and shed are also incorporated, transforming this space into a buffer zone at the entrance to the house, serving other technical purposes.

Housing in Setúbal, 2025

The project transforms two separate structures into one unified building with a single, coherent roof that gives continuity to the drawing of the existing facade.
Inside, the layout is reorganized for efficiency, and the vertical circulation is redesigned to create a clear and functional connection between units.
A new rear courtyard brings natural light and cross-ventilation to the interior, transcending its technical role by improving comfort and allowing the new typologies to be fully integrated into the architecture.

Houses in Rogil, 2025

Built with local stone, consumed by time, blown by the wind, it has resisted. Crumbling.
Through an interpretation of its context and origins, its vernacular construction is reinterpreted and a structural dialogue with contemporaneity is established.
Its volume is intended to be unitary, but separable if necessary. Taking advantage of its privileged solar orientation, its construction emerges from the ground and rises to a clear spatial reorganization.
Two compartments, separate from each other but with the possibility of joining, are connected by their exterior communication. Each has two terraces, to the east and west. Delimited by a light, metallic structure using local canes and with the potential for vegetation to take hold, the structure as a whole is intended to make its presence light and floating.
