Stroop landscape urbanism

Stroop landscape urbanism stroop relies in a group of young open minded designers to bring the newest developments and technical skills to each project.

The office approaches the site in relation to the broader ecological, infrastructural and social processes, systems and strategies, based on identity, time, scale and flexibility. The synergies and interactivity of the design team are valued, promoting the dialog between the different agents and the client.

With a growing portfolio of new projects, stroop landscape urbanism is looking for talented landscape architects to work in their office in Lisbon.
Stroop is a small studio, that works at the edge of landscape architecture and urban design. We are currently working with a team of four on several projects that range between strategic planning, landscape design at a large scale and private and cooperative gardens, both in Portugal and abroad. We are looking to expand our team with two more positions, so a different range of experience is welcome. Please send your portfolio and cv to [email protected]

This project is a long term plan for the recovery of a 8ha Scouts School Camp situated in the coastline of Caparica in Lisbon. The vegetation has been degrading due to the public interventions in the coast line and the invasion of infesting species. This plan predicts the regeneration of the vegetation, through the "construction" of protection green corridors, with strongly maintained and planted, leaving the rest of the area to regenerate naturally. A nursery is provided, for the replantation. There are also punctual interventions in terms of delimitations of pathways, and protection areas, and an infrastructural upgrade in terms of lightning and firefighting. All the interventions are planned and designed to be constructed and developed by the scouts themselves during the camps.

In the city of Lisbon, this private garden was developed together with the building of a new single-family house, organized in 5 different levels, each one with access to different parts of the garden. Each platform has a different character, from the roof terraces, the formal drive in entrance, the more domestic herbal gardens near the kitchen, and the lawn around the swimming pool.

In the heart of the city center of Lisbon, in Baixa, a historical building is given a new life, and it’s roof terrace opens itself to the city. After several image studies, the option for the wooden deck was chosen, and developed as a viewpoint to the city, with a lounge area, a place to set a table and have a dinner at sunset with all the infrastructures – bbq, washing basin, small fridge and shower.
