In a duplex, the staircase is an element that completely transforms the look of the design. If it’s bulky, it cuts the space in half. If it’s well-designed, it makes the flat seem bigger than it is. 🧐

Here, the glass makes the visual barrier disappear, and the wood adds warmth to the staircase without darkening the surrounding area.

The afternoon light completely changes the look of the balconies and creates a play of shadows that wasn’t in the design but which we loved when we first saw it on site. Sometimes the project surprises even us. And that’s a good sign. 😊

We walk past doors every day without giving them a second thought. This one on Rua Chã made us stop in our tracks. The granite arch has been left in its original state, the wood is new and the railing has been restored. 🚪✨
