Unfortunately sometimes your sump pump doesn’t work and sometimes it can be a really
Bad thing like it was here. The sump failed and ejected the water from the crawlspace into the home and flooded the entire house. The entire home had to be mitigated. 2’ of drywall around the perimeter of all walls, all flooring removed, all ductwork and insulation in the crawlspace removed.

Despite having a disaster happen at their home. The client looked to the bright side, and that their insurance carrier covered everything and they will pretty have a fully remodeled home all said and done. With not a dime coming out of their pockets.

A small plumbing line failed under some kitchen cabinets at this clients home. Luckily they were insured and the insurance paid for an entire lower floor remodel, and brand new kitchen cabinets and countertops. Also including brand new up to code electric panel, outlets, and lights. Not to mention too. Their insurnace also paid for them to stay in a fully furnished home the entire time for the project to go from drying out to waiting on approvals all the way to finish product.

What a beautiful kitchen that turned out.

With winter storms comes water damage. High winds can cause “wind driven rain” to intrude into your home and cause some serious damage. Water will work its way through, and affect your insulation and drywall which will in turn create a mold problem which can lead to rot on framing members. Typically your home owners insurance will cover the damages, and repairs to your roof. But you have to be prompt in dealing with it. We’re happy to assist with roof leaks during the storm until a roofer can get out to repair fully. We are able to tarp, or temporarily seal the issue and dry everything out mitigating further damages.

Out and about the pay few days inspecting fire and smoke losses up on mountain hawk. Thankfully the power is on which make setting all the equipment up and running to start recovering the homes to a pre loss condition.

This home up on mountain scathed away from major damage but ended up with a heavy smoke odor and a ton of ash/soot and debris on the interior. We have to go through and determine what can be saved and what is not worth cleaning so that it can just be fully replaced. The interior of the home will be cross sectionally hepa brush cleaned from top to bottom and in every nook and cranny. Progressive cleaning with use of hepa vacuums and anti-odor solutions to wipe the walls down for smoke residue. All HVAC systems are fully cleaned deeply, the affected insulation is removed and replaced. The attic and sub attics will be treated with a odor blocking primer on all exposed wood framing. This progressive deep cleaning in addition to use of the hydroxyl machine does wonders for indoor air quality. The longer you wait to clean the smoke off the damage can and will etch and discolor you’re glass, porcelains, window frames will yellow., etc. in just a Short amount of time too.

Out doing smoke damage inspections today in Windsor/ Healdsburg and every home inspected had smoke damage on the inside the home, and attics. Be safe everyone, these fires have become a routine part of life up here in Northern California and likely are not going away anytime soon. Interesting job of the week: Did you know your home owners insurance most likely covers accidental damages? Mrs Jacobs of Marin was pleased they do. She was thawing meat under her kitchen faucet which blocked the drain after it thawed a bit. This caused the sink to overflow and damage her cabinets and hardwood floors which she just installed. After discussing with her adjuster, her insurance covered replacing all of her cabinets and countertops, and replaced the area of damaged floor and sanded/refinished the rest of the floor to have a uniform appearance.

Her cost ended up being $0, for the boo boo.
