Cristea Arhitectura Architectural design office based in Bucharest. It realised since 1998 various projects for new buildings and restorations.

The office has been founded in 1998, by architect Iulius Cristea, after his return from an eight years period of studies in Paris.

Our Story

Cristea Arhitectura has been created in 1998 by Iulius Cristea, born in Bucharest (1969). He studied architecture at Ion Mincu Institute of Architecture in Bucharest (1987-1990) and Ecole d’Architecture de Paris La-Villette (1990-1994). After a postgraduate degree in history of architecture at Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris (1997), he returned to Romania and since 1998, he has been teaching at the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism, where he is currently associate professor. The firm’s projects include a wide range of housing and public buildings - new construction, refurbishment, historic monuments conservation, as well as urban design. The conception of each project combines academic research and innovative technical methods, aiming to turn programmatic complexity into smart and friendly architecture.
