A new Ergio project is taking shape on the Spanish coast, in a setting where architecture opens directly towards the sea.
But behind that view sits a carefully engineered wall system, designed layer by layer for structure, insulation, protection and long-term performance.
For the external timber frame walls, the build-up includes:
โข a 45 ร 145 mm timber structure, forming the structural core
โข 150 mm mineral wool, providing thermal insulation within the timber frame
โข 12 mm OSB sheathing
โข a high-performance membrane, supporting airtightness and moisture management
โข plasterboard on the interior side, providing the internal finishing layer
โข expanded polystyrene on the exterior
โข reinforced adhesive and finishing coats, preparing the faรงade for its final exterior finish
Inside, selected partition walls use a lighter timber structure combined with OSB and acoustic mineral wool, helping improve sound separation between interior spaces. ๐
Different materials. Different functions. One coordinated system. โ๏ธ
That is the real value of prefabrication.
Not simply producing walls in a factory, but understanding how every layer contributes to the performance of the finished building before it reaches the site.
Because in timber construction, precision is not only about dimensions.
It is also about how structure, insulation, membranes, sheathing and finishes work together as one system.
