I was 6 weeks old when my parents took me out to our family island for the first time. Boats, seawater, the smell of tar makes me happy.
All summers during my childhood I was fishing with our father, we had fish for dinner 5 days a week. My favorite then and still is is smoked flaunder.
Now I have my own smoke-box, bought in Finland. I buy fresh fish from the village. And I smoke with woodchips of alder just as my father and grandfather.
The best meal in the late summer evening 🐟
