We are happy to announce that our project Bruksgården is nominated for the prestigous European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2019.

The award is granted every two years to acknowledge and reward quality architectural production in Europe.

ArkDes through Kieran Long, Johan Örn and James Taylor-Foster together with Petra Gipp and Mikael Olsson is taking part in the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale.

The exhibition is exploring certain aspects of the work of Sigurd Lewerentz.

Three large scale section models by Petra Gipp is opening for a unique reading of canopies from three of Lewerentz’s buildings, how they relate to the interior and exterior spaces; the landscape and the church space.

The section models are accompanied by archive material from ArkDes, as well as photographs by Mikael Olsson

The 2018 architecture biennale titled Freespace is open from May 26th to November 25th
