Blank has worked on custom interiors and new interior finishes in an apartment on Östermalm in Stockholm, currently undergoing an extensive renovation. The project has focused on holistic solutions for the bathroom, walk-in closet, and bedrooms, with every detail carefully considered. The apartment is located in the attic of a beautiful early 20th-century brick building. Its location under sloping ceilings creates unique spatial opportunities while giving the rooms a strong sense of character.
The bathroom is defined by matte-finished Calacatta marble with subtle gray veining. The walls are painted in a soft off-white, while the floor is clad with large tiles in the same tone. Marble is repeated in the sink and storage solutions, wraps around the bathtub, and forms the arched entrance to the marble-clad shower. The guest WC features a checkerboard floor in Bardiglio Novulato and white marble. Skirting boards and dado rails are framed with custom-made stone moldings inspired by Art Deco design.
The project includes extensive custom joinery in dark-pigmented, hard-waxed oak, with details such as a dressing table with a glass top and an illuminated drawer for jewelry storage. The dressing nook is fitted with wall-mounted lights on either side of the window and a pull-out mirror. The wardrobe storage is made from the same dark oak, featuring glazed doors and specially designed solutions for shoes, bags, jewelry, and various types of rods and shelves for clothing.
