Our shoes are crafted by artist and designer Rustam Adyukov, works in Stockholm, Sweden. Born in 1976 in Nizhny Tagil, Soviet Union, second generation shoe designer. Each work of Rustam Adyukov represents a spatial interpretation of human nature or frame of mind (« Loss », « Modesty » ), or society characteristics (“Tree dancing on the rope”), or philosophic category (“Conscience”).
The figurative language of the artist allows to discover the “topography” of concepts extensively used in the modern world and the “topography” of psychological states of a present-day person.
The names are of great importance in the works of Rustam Adyukov. The names’ nature is explicative, it verbalizes the idea of an art work, this is a reference point for its reading. This literary method goes along with the Russian art during centuries, and it seems natural in view of the antecedence of the literature in the Russian cultural tradition.
The figurative semiotic system created by Rustam Adyukov is common for graphic arts, painting and sculpture. Art works with a closed composition reveal themselves through their names due to their concise shape. The shape and the colour of the sculptures « Suiter of our daughter », « Word » are justified by formal and emotional perception of the concepts presented in the names of these works.

A Handicraft-pop-up is a short open workshop in an everyday situation. The random visitors got the oportuity to measure the volym of their feet, ask questions or start to make a bespoke simple shoe from scratch.

A collboration between the National Swedish Handicraft Council initiates in Västerhorrland and Kulturmagasinet, Sundsvall.
