Since you are contacting us regarding the case with Elsäkerhetsverket in Sweden we have the below response to update you with:
Easee appeals Elsäkerhetsverket's decision.
Easee has received confirmation from Elsäkerhetsverket that their inspection of our
electric car chargers is complete, and that a sales ban will be imposed in Sweden with
immediate effect. Elsäkerhetsverket’s decision is only applicable in the Swedish
market.
Easee is filing a legal appeal against both the imposed sales ban and its immediate
effect. We are of the firm opinion that there is no technical or legal basis for imposing
such a ban.
– We strongly disagree with the decision and will do everything we can to safeguard
our customers, partners and employees. Our main focus has always been people and
safety, says founder and CEO Jonas Helmikstøl.
He adds: – Our customers can continue to charge safely as usual, and do not need to
take any actions. We will continue to fight this decision and to work for a greener
future through innovative products
Easee emphasizes that there have been no incidents that form the basis of the
imposed sales ban, as is also highlighted within Elsäkerhetsverket’s report. The report
states that Elsäkerhetsverket does not believe there is any risk of harm to people or
possessions.
Easee is working on filing a legal appeal against the sales ban and an interim
injunction against its immediate effect. If successful, the sales ban will be removed.
We expect the interim injunction to be considered by the court shortly.
There will also be an ordinary appeal process, where we again will prove why our
chargers are the safest on the market. This appeal process may take several months,
but if the interim injunction is accepted, there will be no sales ban in the meantime
There will be no changes in operations in other markets – our chargers are available and approved for sale as normal. All operations in other markets are running as usual.
