Our maintenance crew at Terminal 2 at Mactan-Cebu International Airport!

The 3,600 m² ETFE canopy welcomes arriving passengers in the Philippines' second busiest gateway. The canopy is lightweight, transparent and specifically engineered for the tropical climate of the Visayas: intense sun, high humidity and the seasonal threat of typhoons.

ETFE's self-cleaning surface and resistance to UV degradation make it well-suited to airport applications, where performance standards must remain consistently high and maintenance access is limited. Over years of continuous operation, the canopy continues to deliver the same quality of light and shelter as at commissioning 😍

For an airport that connects the Philippines to the world, that reliability matters.

All seasons, all weather, ETFE enables the all-year-round resort!

At Ocean Park Water World in Hong Kong, 3,000 m² of ETFE skylight systems allow the venue to operate as a true all-season destination. The lightweight ETFE roof keeps the resort environment protected from typhoons and heavy rain, while maximising the daylight that makes a water park experience feel alive and vibrant 😎

Hong Kong's climate is one of the most demanding in Asia Pacific: intense summer heat, significant rainfall and the occasional typhoon. ETFE handles all of this with exceptional resilience, and its resistance to environmental degradation means the skylight will perform to the same standard a decade from now as it does today.

Designed by AEDAS, the project is a compelling example of how ETFE enables large-scale leisure and hospitality architecture in challenging climates.

Night transforms this ETFE canopy into something spectacular! 🎆

At Adelaide Entertainment Centre, 2,498 m² of ETFE with integrated LED lighting turns an everyday structure into a glowing, colourful beacon for the venue and the surrounding precinct. By day, the canopy does its job: sheltering visitors, diffusing natural light, and keeping the outdoor spaces comfortable in Adelaide's warm climate.

At night, the LEDs bring the ETFE to life. The translucent material diffuses the light beautifully, creating a soft, even glow that draws people in and signals that something is happening.

Did you know that ETFE is one of the few materials that performs better at night than glass? The light diffusion is simply more dramatic, more even, and more memorable 💡

ETFE at Beijing Daxing International Airport ❤️

When Zaha Hadid Architects designed Beijing Daxing Airport, one of the largest airports in the world, every component of the building had to perform to the highest standard. The 3,466 m² of ETFE entrance canopies are no exception.

ETFE was specified for its lightweight properties and long-term low-maintenance performance: critical qualities in an infrastructure project serving tens of millions of passengers per year. The canopies provide shelter and daylight at the airport's entrance zones while minimizing structural load and ongoing operational costs.

Airports demand materials that work reliably, year after year, under intense use. ETFE delivers exactly that 💪

Day and night, two completely different buildings!

At Falcon Mall in Kunming, the ETFE roof system combines natural daylight with integrated LED illumination to create a retail destination with a strong visual identity at any hour. By day, the ETFE brings natural light into the mall's interior. At night, the same material becomes a glowing, luminous surface that defines the building's presence on the Kunming skyline.

This dual-mode performance is one of ETFE's most distinctive qualities. Glass creates a different visual effect at night, it reflects rather than transmits. ETFE cushions lit from within glow evenly and dramatically, making the building an unmistakable landmark after dark.

For retail developments competing for attention in a busy city, that night-time presence matters.

Pandas in Macao 🐼

At the Giant Panda Pavilion in Macao, 2,600 m² of transparent ETFE roof brings the quality of natural daylight that pandas need for their wellbeing into an enclosed, climate-controlled habitat. For the visitors watching through the glass, the bright, naturally lit environment creates an experience that feels far removed from a conventional zoo enclosure.

This is one of the most compelling arguments for ETFE in zoological design: the material supports genuine animal welfare outcomes at the same time as it creates a better visitor experience. No other roofing system delivers natural light transmission at this quality while also providing the thermal insulation and weather protection that a climate-controlled habitat requires.

3,600 m² of community space, open to the sky.

Our Tampines Hub is one of Singapore's most ambitious community development projects: A place where sport, culture, civic life and everyday community activities converge. The 3,600 m² ETFE canopy with custom print shading is an essential part of what makes the outdoor spaces work.

The printed ETFE cushions balance daylight and shade across the plaza, creating a comfortable outdoor environment in Singapore's tropical climate. The custom print adds a visual identity to the canopy that reflects the character of the precinct: Active, colourful and welcoming.

Play, learn, grow under the open sky. Even when it rains ☂️🌦️

At the AIS Early Years Facility in Singapore, 3,000 m² of ETFE canopies shelter outdoor play areas, learning spaces and a pool. Children can be outside, in natural light, in any weather – which is exactly the kind of environment that early childhood education specialists advocate.

Singapore's climate – intense sun, frequent heavy rain – makes outdoor learning a challenge. ETFE solves both problems simultaneously. The cushions transmit natural daylight and UV spectrum while protecting from rain, and the lightweight structure avoids the institutional heaviness that a conventional roof would introduce.

Designed by Architects, the project shows how ETFE can support genuine wellbeing outcomes in educational settings.

At KCC Mall of General Santos, a printed ETFE roof brings natural daylight into the atrium of a retail and leisure destination in one of the Philippines' fastest-growing cities.

The printed design balances light and solar control, creating a comfortable indoor environment while maintaining the open, sky-connected feeling that shoppers respond to.

General Santos sits in a region that experiences significant sun intensity year-round. Getting the solar control right is not optional, it directly determines whether the mall's central spaces are inviting or uncomfortable. ETFE's printability gives the design team precise control over that balance.

Projects like this show that ETFE is the right technical solution for retail developments across the Asia Pacific region.
