Remember the Tampines condo I shared with you in my previous video?

Today, the renovation officially begins! 🎉

Before work started, we had a simple renovation ceremony together with the homeowner. Once the celebration began, it marked the start of this home’s transformation.

📐 After the ceremony, we went through all the renovation details with the homeowner again and made sure everything was clearly confirmed.

I always believe that renovation isn’t about starting as quickly as possible. The more detailed the planning and communication, the smoother the renovation will be.

🔨 And the first step today wasn’t demolition — it was protecting the existing areas of the home.

Good protection means better workmanship and fewer unnecessary problems during renovation.

🏡 The Renovation “Perfectionist” Renovating His Own Home — Check Out These Details!

People say renovation is about making a home look good for others. But when renovating my own home, I had to pay extra attention to the details!

🚿 Bathroom
The water heater is hidden inside the ceiling, leaving only a flat panel light visible. Clean, simple, and space-saving.

🚪 Windows
New windows with an extended ledge, creating extra space for storage or decoration.

💡 Kitchen
A no-main-lighting design with hidden track lights and LED cabinet lighting. We also pre-planned a 4-panel concealed cabinet door to keep the space open and seamless.

❄️ Air Conditioning
All aircon piping is concealed for a cleaner overall look.

🧱 Wall Finishing
Machine sanding for the main areas and hand sanding for the corners to achieve a smoother finish.

🎤 Entertainment + KTV Room
Speakers, ambient lighting, and most importantly—soundproofing. Laminated glass and multiple layers of soundproofing help keep the sound inside the room.

📶 Smart Home + Wi-Fi
Smart home controls throughout the house, together with full-home Wi-Fi coverage for a stable connection in every corner.

🏡 Our HDB Has Reached the Tiling Stage | Why We Chose Epoxy Grout

Our 4-room HDB in Singapore has officially entered the tiling stage!

One of the biggest decisions was choosing between glossy tiles and matte tiles.

Glossy tiles make a space feel brighter and larger, but with a modern no-main-lighting design, they can create noticeable reflections at night.

That's why we chose matte tiles. They create a softer, more relaxing atmosphere and give the home a timeless look.

Another upgrade we decided on is epoxy grout.

Many people think it's just regular grout, but it's actually a premium finishing option. It blends more naturally with the tiles, creates a cleaner and more seamless appearance, and offers better stain resistance and durability over time.

For our home, we felt that matte tiles + epoxy grout was the perfect combination.

The house is finally starting to feel like a real home, and we can't wait to show you the finished result.

Our Ang Mo Kio dual-unit HDB has officially entered the wall finishing stage.

Many people focus on cabinets, tiles, and furniture, but smooth and well-prepared walls are what truly elevate the overall look of a home.

We first remove the old wall coating, then apply putty to level the surface before using professional sanding machines for a smoother finish. This helps prevent uneven walls and visible imperfections, especially with modern track lighting and downlights.

Once the wall preparation is complete, painting begins. At the same time, the TV feature wall is also taking shape, adding depth and character to the living space.

A beautiful home isn't just about the final design—it's about getting every step right from the beginning.

Our Ang Mo Kio dual-unit HDB project has officially moved into the ceiling and floor leveling stage after completing the electrical and plumbing works.

Many people focus on the final look of a renovation, but the true quality of a home comes from the work you don’t see.

🔨 The ceiling isn’t just for aesthetics. It also conceals plumbing, air-conditioning pipes, and structural beams, creating a cleaner and more seamless living space.

📐 Since this is a combined dual-unit HDB, the ceiling structure is much more complex than a standard layout, requiring careful planning and precise workmanship.

🧱 At the same time, floor leveling is underway. A properly leveled floor is essential for better tile installation, durability, and a flawless finish.

✨ The walls are also being roughened (surface preparation) before tiling to improve adhesion and ensure a stronger, longer-lasting installation.

🏡 Although it’s still a construction site today, the quality of a home is already being built through these hidden details.

Today, I was invited to attend the grand opening of Ji Zheng Gong Singapore. 🏮

The moment I arrived, I was amazed by the vibrant atmosphere. Friends, devotees, and guests gathered together to celebrate this special occasion.

Inside, you'll find not only the main worship area, but also beautifully crafted deity statues, crystal collections, and exquisite Thangka artworks. Every corner reflects great attention to detail.

The highlight of the day was definitely the six lion dance troupes performing together. 🦁🥁

While most people focus on the final design, it’s actually these hidden foundation works that make the biggest difference to everyday living.

💧 Plumbing is being reconfigured to match the new layout, with waterproofing and water ponding tests completed.

⚡ Electrical works include careful planning of power points, lighting, internet, and appliance locations for maximum convenience.

❄️ Air-conditioning piping is also being installed, ensuring a cleaner and more efficient layout.

🪟 Window replacement is another important step, as HDB approval is required before the work can begin.

✨ Every stage brings this future home one step closer to completion.

Singapore HDB Renovation Journey | Plumbing, Electrical Works & Window Replacement Begin

Our 4-room Singapore HDB has officially moved on to the next stage after demolition ： plumbing, electrical works, air-conditioning installation, and window replacement.

This project feels especially meaningful to me.

In the past, I was usually the one standing on site, helping clients review designs and overseeing the renovation process. But this time, I find myself constantly thinking:

"Will this be convenient for me and my family in the future?"

Where should the power points go?

Will the lighting be too bright?

How should the air-conditioning piping be routed?

Will the storage be practical enough?

These are the little details that may not seem obvious when the renovation is first completed, but they make a huge difference once you start living in the space every day.

Since we adjusted the layout, some of the plumbing and electrical points had to be replanned as well.

The bathrooms have now entered the waterproofing stage, and a water ponding test will be carried out afterwards.

At the same time, electrical wiring works have begun. The locations of the switches, sockets, lighting, and network points are all planned based on our actual daily lifestyle.

Air-conditioning piping is also being installed, ensuring a cleaner and more seamless finish once the ceiling works are completed.

Another thing many people overlook is HDB window replacement.

In Singapore, replacing windows requires prior approval, as it involves the building façade. It's not something that can simply be done without permission. I previously shared a separate video about this topic, so feel free to check it out if you're interested.

Although we're still in the construction phase, the space is slowly starting to feel like home. 🌿
