Meet Paul Berlandier, former chef and hobbyist woodworker. Paul's one of our favourite friends who comes over to work on projects, the latest being nativity houses. They are handcrafted with a lot of love and care. Ping Paul .berlandier if you want one. Prices start at $380.00. This is dirt cheap really. We definitely would have sold it at higher prices!

By the way, some of you might remember Paul when he was chef at Sunset Bay. One of the biggest perks of Paul coming to use our workshop is the superyummilicious Eurasian fare he cooks for us! We hope he would still be induced to cook up batches of oxtail stew, bolognaise, and shepherd's pie if anyone wants to place an order!

Jumping on the formaldehyde issue bandwagon. We are seeing more people concerned about this and thought it would help to demystify the topic of indoor air pollutants emitted by furniture installations. If your furniture is made using high VOCs materials, do note that they will continue to emit VOCs for months or even years to come.

Solution? Opt for low VOCs materials. Choose the plywood used in your furniture wisely. Lots of plywood now are labelled E1 or even E0, so check on the reliability of the claim too. Ask about the contact cement, wood glue, or finishings used.
