Here’s the highlights of our Beginners’ Card Making workshops conducted in 2021 with secondary school students. We were impressed by their creativity and their beautiful cards. Most importantly we all had a great time teaching and picking up new skills. We definitely miss them all!

I am not a morning person! 😴 But with the recent card making workshops we have been waking up before sunrise and make our way to the institution. I usually don’t look forward to the long journey. I don’t look forward to the setting up of the equipments. I don’t look forward to what’s going to happen in each session as every student learn at their own pace.

But from the moment the students walk into the classroom till the end of the class, I completely enjoy teaching the students in ways they can learn and apply the techniques. In ways they can learn to create greeting cards without the need of having special equipment.

Watching them apply mathematics to measure, to be precise, to be patient and careful gives me great satisfaction. Card making is not just a skill, but an attitude. Certain attitude will bring out certain type of design and quality.

The students soon learn the techniques and the attitude as well. Each of their cards show progress in their dedication, focus and attitude. I always leave the classroom smiling and feeling good. And I always start the journey with a frown! 😂
