Throwback to 2 weeks ago. Attended the IFI World Interiors Day 2026 Discussionl on “Designing Through Change - Building for Resilience.”

Good reminder that resilience isn’t just about responding to challenges, but designing ahead of them—whether in designing, adaptability, or long-term performance for both our works or our practices.

Always valuable to hear different perspectives on how we can better integrate these ideas into everyday practice.

Constant learning plays an essential role in our development journey as architects, shaping how we design, specify, and deliver better outcomes.

Recently attended a technical seminar by Mapei, where we gained deeper insights into efflorescence, waterproofing systems, and practical strategies for selecting and installing resin flooring. These are issues we frequently encounter on real projects, and understanding the root causes—along with proper material selection and application methods—makes a significant difference in long-term performance.

Sessions like these bridge the gap between design intent and on-site realities. They remind us that good architecture isn’t just about concepts, but also about getting the details right—from substrate preparation to system compatibility.

Grateful for the opportunity to learn, reflect, and continue sharpening our practice.

Architecture often brings us beyond the familiar.

Recently, we had the opportunity to go on a site visit that took us to places we would not have explore—even within our own home country. It is a reminder that our work does not just stay within drawings and offices; it brings us into diverse environments, each with its own context, challenges, and stories.

These experiences broaden our perspective, helping us better understand how people interact with spaces across different settings. They also reinforce the importance of being observant and adaptable—qualities that are essential in delivering thoughtful and responsive designs.

Sometimes, the most valuable insights come from stepping into the unfamiliar.

Honoured to speak at the inaugural BCA-MBAS Landed Property Builders Webinar 2026, alongside speakers from BCA and NEA.

It was a meaningful discussion on site management and communication, expectations, quality and practical ways to reduce disputes in landed residential projects.

A big thank you to BCA, MBAS, and all fellow speakers for the opportunity to exchange ideas and contribute to this important conversation. It was also encouraging to see the strong interest from industry participants in raising standards and to BuildTrust in the sector.
