Thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday for AustCham Singapore's Breakfast Briefing with Her Excellency Robyn Mudie, Australian High Commissioner to Singapore.

In her keynote, High Commissioner Mudie reflected on the strength and maturity of the Australia-Singapore relationship - one built on trust, shared priorities and a clear commitment to practical collaboration. From economic resilience and essential supplies to the green economy, energy, innovation and regional connectivity, the relationship continues to create meaningful opportunities for business.

Our panel of senior Team Australia representatives from Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and the Australian High Commission, Singapore explored what this means in practice for Australian businesses. Key themes included Singapore’s role as a regional launchpad, opportunities across AI, energy, infrastructure, data centres and defence, and the value of building long-term partnerships grounded in a clear understanding of local needs.

No matter the industry or area of focus, a key takeaway for our members and guests is that successful market engagement is not transactional. It takes regular connection, a strong value proposition, and collaboration across the Team Australia network.

As one of Australia's leading voices on gender equality, cultural reform and inclusive leadership, Elizabeth shared practical insights drawn from decades of working with leaders and organisations around the world, highlighting that inclusive leadership is not just about policies - it's about the everyday behaviours, accountability and courage that shape organisational culture.

The engaging session was expertly moderated by Emily Follett, Australian Deputy High Commissioner to Singapore, who also outlined some of the Australian government key initiatives to advance gender equality.

The key takeaways from the session:
✅ Inclusion starts with leadership and the behaviours leaders role model every day.
✅ Sustainable cultural change requires accountability, transparency and measurable action.
✅ Stories can be just as powerful as data in driving meaningful change.
✅ As AI transforms the workplace, leaders have an important role to play in ensuring innovation is inclusive and equitable.

Members in our community are actively driving change within the organisations. During the session last Thursday, we were proud to showcase the progress in DEI made by some of our members - Rio Tinto, QBE Asia, Mallesons, and Qantas. Thank you for contributing to this important conversation.

Yesterday, we held the AustCham Singapore Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026, hosted at ANZ Singapore. Thank you to all members who participated in this pivotal session for our Chamber's future.

Key Highlights:
📈 President's Report - Stephen Miller showcased impressive membership growth and our expanded offerings designed to enhance the member experience
💰 Financial Health - Vice President Batya Shulman presented strong financials, positioning us well for the upcoming financial year
👏 Special Recognition - We honoured Sue-Ann Wilson, former AustCham Singapore Executive Director, for her exceptional leadership in strengthening our Chamber over the past two years

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at Raffles Sentosa Singapore last Friday for President's Lunch 2026. It was wonderful to see the Australian-Singapore business community come together in full force once again for an afternoon of connection, celebration, and outstanding hospitality, brought to life by our very talented Australian chefs and the finest Australian produce.

This year's President's Lunch featured a fireside chat with Amy Bell and Josh Bell. It was inspiring to hear about their entrepreneurial journey building some of Australia’s most loved F&B brands in Singapore, and how they have cultivated a strong following for brands such as Yo-Chi Singapore and Guzman y Gomez Singapore.

We were also honoured to be joined by Her Excellency Robyn Mudie, Australian High Commissioner to Singapore, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our work together in the years ahead.

President's Lunch would not have been possible without the generous support of our event partners, and it was a pleasure to hear from them on the day. Thank you to everyone who joined us at yesterday’s Ministerial Dialogue with Ms. Gan Siow Huang 颜晓芳, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Foreign Affairs. Against the backdrop of intensifying geopolitical uncertainty, MOS Gan highlighted the enduring trust that underpins the bilateral relationship between Singapore and Australia.

Moderated by Vice President Batya Shulman, the discussion also explored Singapore’s key priorities, including diversifying renewable energy sources, scaling AI solutions, and ensuring workforce readiness for these transitions.

We are grateful to MOS Gan for her candid responses to questions from the floor - we had more questions than we had time for; a true sign of an engaging discussion.

We were also honoured to welcome Her Excellency Robyn Mudie, Australian High Commissioner to Singapore, at her first AustCham Singapore event. Thank you for taking the time to join us at the session yesterday.

At the Brisbane: A Golden Era of Opportunity Forum, senior leaders and global investors gathered in Singapore to explore what makes Brisbane one of the most attractive destinations for investment. From its cutting-edge infrastructure to a thriving innovation ecosystem, Brisbane is where talent, tourism, and capital converge to drive long-term success.

With the momentum building toward the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Brisbane is entering a transformative decade. The strong investment interest from Singapore speaks volumes; our speakers cited notable examples like City Developments Limited’s acquisition of Sofitel Brisbane Central and Altea Investments’ decision to establish their Australian flagship at QIMR Berghofer.

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our first Ministerial Dialogue of the year with Mr. Chan Chun Sing, Coordinating Minister for Public Services & Minister for Defence. This session arrived at a pivotal moment, as global uncertainty continues to intensify. We were privileged to hear from the Minister on how geopolitics will shape the future landscape, impacting both our operational environment and societal dynamics.

Moderated by President Stephen Miller, the discussion also explored exciting opportunities for further collaboration between Singapore and Australia under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership 2.0, including updates to the Singapore-Australia Digital Economy Agreement.

A special thank you to Minister Chan for taking the time to share such valuable insights in this far-reaching conversation with our members, guests, and the broader diplomatic community, including representatives from the British High Commission, Indian High Commission, and Japan Embassy. On behalf of the community, President Stephen Miller expressed our deep gratitude and presented His Excellency with a token of appreciation for his invaluable contributions to advancing bilateral relations between Singapore and Australia.

His Excellency also took a moment to recognise the contributions of Executive Director Sue-Ann Wilson, acknowledging her pivotal role in strengthening the Chamber over the past two years. While Sue-Ann will be stepping down from her Executive Director role, she will remain an integral part of the Chamber. More details to follow.

Last Wednesday, we brought our community together at The Great Room, Raffles Arcade, to celebrate International Women's Day with a conversation centred on this year's theme, Give to Gain. Full photo gallery will be up on our website this week.

The discussion explored giving as a strategic lever. One that, when applied thoughtfully creates opportunity, visibility and meaningful impact. Thank you to the Great Room and the AustCham community who joined us and contributed to an interactive and thought-provoking discussion.

We were also pleased to announce a new partnership between AustCham Singapore and The Great Room. Through this collaboration, The Great Room will serve as a home for the AustCham community.
