OWMF Architecture is an architectural and interior design practice based in Singapore and Malaysia founded by Sy Lyng in 2013. We are passionate about advancing technical craft in concert with a theoretical and conceptual grounding generated from our research and experimentation. This motivating force behind our works results in unpredictable OPEN, WILD, MAGICAL, FUN forms and spaces that are abso

lutely non repetitive. Ultimately OWMF is in the pursuit of inspiring the human spirit and we are always interested in innovative approaches towards it. Since 2003, Sy Lyng has worked on institutional, commercial, and residential projects of various scales with offices in New York, China and Singapore including Shigeru Ban Architects, SOM New York and Arc Studio. She graduated from the Cooper Union in New York. OWMF is currently conceptualizing and building a few architectural and interior design projects in the Asia region. Sari, a ‘strip of cloth’ in Sanskrit. The concept for the architecture is inspired by one of the world’s oldest drapery, first seen between 2800–1800 BCE and still worn today. The sari is ancient yet modern, embodying heritage, continuity, transformation, and innovation—qualities mirrored in both the vision and design of the Vivekanada Cultural Centre.
