Planning a 4-room BTO layout for a single parent raising three kids requires thoughtful spatial planning. 🏡 In our latest 3D Showcase, our experienced interior designer, Zan Lai, breaks down how clever space planning creates an open, highly functional home without overspending on custom carpentry. 🏢

Right at the entrance, Zan designed a shoe cabinet featuring a console door and a full-height niche for quick grab-and-go storage. Since the family seldom cooks heavy meals, Zan opened up the kitchen layout with a central island and an adjoining dining counter. This open-concept design makes the communal space feel bright while allowing the parent to easily keep an eye on the children. 🍳

To maximize bedroom space, Zan tailored custom solutions for each child's room. For the son's bedroom, a custom wardrobe is paired with a flexible off-the-shelf study desk. Every designer has a defining journey, and for our experienced interior designer, Bryce Lim, it all started with an unexpected leap of faith. 🏐

After completing two years of mandatory national service in the army, Bryce found himself spending his days playing competitive volleyball and gaming. That was until a life-changing phone call came from his volleyball coach, who asked if he wanted to try joining a new interior design firm. Bryce decided to give it a one-year shot, knowing that if it did not work out, he could always head back to school. 👟

Stepping into the design industry without a traditional background meant learning everything the hard way. Bryce had to navigate a steep learning curve completely on his own, learning by going through obstacles on-site, or what we often call "banging the wall." It took him nearly a full year to finish his very first project, but that ground-up experience taught him a vital truth: you cannot master the big picture without first understanding the small details. 📐
