The 31st National Convention on Civil Engineering (NCCE31)
The NCCE31 event is being held from May 27–29 at the Grand Palazzo Hotel Convention Center in Pattaya, Chonburi. Dr. Kanokpat Chanvaivit, Technical Director of Bouygues-Thai Ltd., and Somchai Apipattanavis, Managing Director of InGen Design, delivered keynote presentations to share their expertise on the design and construction of Once Wongamat, a new 56-story luxury residential development set to become one of the tallest towers in Pattaya.
The presentation covered various engineering challenges, including the selected structural system, wind tunnel testing and acceptance criteria, seismic design considerations, the application of advanced analysis and design tools, and the construction of pile foundations with rock embedment and pile testing. Although seismic design is not mandated by local regulations for this project, the project owner, HONOUR Group, specifically instructed the team to incorporate ductile seismic design principles into the structural system to ensure the highest level of safety for future occupants.
InGen Design is proud to provide structural engineering design services to Bouygues-Thai Ltd., the design-build main contractor for the project. The development is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion in Q1/2028.
