Rather than using a single large column, four circular steel pipes are grouped together to form a floral profile, making the structure appear smaller while softening its visual mass. The same detail is repeated at a smaller scale in the door handle.

นับเป็นเกียรติอย่างยิ่งของพวกเรา Only Human ที่ได้รับรางวัลเหรียญเงิน “สถาปัตยกรรมดีเด่น ประจำปี 2567“ รางวัลพระราชทานจากสมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี คัดเลือกโดย สมาคมสถาปนิกสยาม ในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ สำหรับโครงการ Sohelou St. Marc Catholic Chapel ในประเภทอาคารด้านวัฒนธรรม

ขอขอบคุณทีมงานทุกท่าน ที่ร่วมกันทำให้โครงการนี้สำเร็จลุล่วง แม้จะเป็นโครงการขนาดเล็ก แต่กลับเต็มไปด้วยความหมายและประสบการณ์ที่มีคุณค่าสำหรับพวกเราเสมอ

It is our great honor to receive the “Association of Siamese Architects Design Award of the Year 2024” Silver Medal, graciously granted by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, for the Sohelou St. Marc Catholic Chapel in the Cultural Building category.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who was involved in making this project a reality. This small project has been a meaningful journey and experience for us, giving back far more than we could have imagined.

การออกแบบบ้านพักอาศัยส่วนตัวหลังนี้เริ่มต้นจากเรื่องราวชีวิตของเจ้าของบ้าน ซึ่งมีความผูกพันกับประเทศจีนมาตั้งแต่วัยรุ่น ความทรงจำดังกล่าวจึงกลายเป็นจุดตั้งต้นในการพัฒนาแนวคิดทางสถาปัตยกรรม ควบคู่ไปกับความต้องการของเจ้าของที่ต้องการสถาปัตยกรรมซึ่งเผยให้เห็นโครงสร้าง วัสดุ และระบบอาคารอย่างตรงไปตรงมา

แรงบันดาลใจสำคัญของบ้านหลังนี้มาจากองค์ประกอบของพื้นที่ที่ปรากฏในภาพเขียนจีนโบราณ องค์ประกอบดังกล่าวถูกนำมาวิเคราะห์และพัฒนาเป็นภาษาทางสถาปัตยกรรมผ่านกระบวนการลดทอน การเปลี่ยนแกน และการทำซ้ำ

แทนที่จะนำประตูพระจันทร์ (moon gate) แบบดั้งเดิมมาใช้โดยตรง องค์ประกอบนี้ถูกหมุนเปลี่ยนแกน และตีความใหม่เป็นคานเหล็กดัดเป็นวง ซึ่งทำหน้าที่เป็นพื้นที่เปลี่ยนผ่านภายในคอร์ตต้อนรับ พร้อมเปิดให้ต้นไม้เติบโตทะลุขึ้นสู่ระเบียงของห้องนั่งเล่นบนชั้นสอง สร้างความต่อเนื่องระหว่างพื้นที่สถาปัตยกรรมและธรรมชาติ

บนชั้นสอง โถงทางเดินหลักถูกออกแบบให้มีลักษณะยาวและเน้นแกนที่ชัดเจน ด้านบนเปิดรับแสงธรรมชาติผ่านช่องแสงตลอดแนว ขณะเดียวกัน ครีบโค้งที่เรียงตัวอย่างต่อเนื่องช่วยสร้างจังหวะของแสง โดยได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากระเบียงเสาในสถาปัตยกรรมจีนดั้งเดิม ที่ค่อย ๆ นำไปสู่ห้องนอนใหญ่ในตอนปลายของทางเดิน

วัสดุของอาคารถูกควบคุมให้เรียบง่ายและชัดเจน คอนกรีตถูกใช้เป็นพื้นหลัง ขณะที่อิฐสีเทาเข้ม วัสดุที่พบได้ในสถาปัตยกรรมจีนดั้งเดิม ถูกนำเข้าจากประเทศจีน และนำมาใช้เป็นวัสดุหลักที่ต่อเนื่องตั้งแต่ façade ด้านหน้าไปจนถึงผนังและพื้น การก่ออิฐสลับระหว่างแนวนอนและแนวตั้งไม่เพียงเพื่อความงาม แต่ยังช่วยลดจำนวนอิฐที่ใช้ลงได้ราวครึ่งหนึ่งเมื่อเทียบกับการก่อแบบแนวนอนเพียงอย่างเดียว

H168 House จึงเป็นการตีความใหม่ของสถาปัตยกรรมจีนดั้งเดิมผ่านสถาปัตยกรรมร่วมสมัย ที่เปิดเผยโครงสร้างและกระบวนการก่อสร้างอย่างตรงไปตรงมา พร้อมคงไว้ซึ่งสมดุลระหว่างความไม่สมบูรณ์ของวัสดุที่ผ่านกาลเวลากับรายละเอียดที่ถูกออกแบบอย่างประณีต
