| Thian Thale Phatthana Phrueksa Phirom Park: Restoring Ecology, Reconnecting People with Nature
Thian Thale Phatthana Phrueksa Phirom Park was developed to expand Bangkok’s public green spaces and improve the quality of life through a shared space that supports recreation, exercise, and everyday community activities. The project reflects a collaboration between the public and private sectors to create accessible green infrastructure for the city.
Located in Bang Khun Thian, the park is designed around the area’s original mangrove ecosystem, combining environmental restoration with practical public use. Active spaces, such as sports and gathering areas, are placed for easy access, while quieter zones provide a more relaxing atmosphere that encourages people to reconnect with nature.
The project also integrates a sustainable water management system that helps reduce flooding, supports water retention, and improves the surrounding environment. More than a public park, it serves as a green urban space that enhances well-being, strengthens community life, and promotes a balanced relationship between people and nature.

| The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok: A Serene Urban Retreat of Timelessness
Located beside Lumphini Park, the project transforms one of Bangkok’s rarest urban conditions into an immersive experience of calm, privacy, and connection to nature. Rather than treating the park as a backdrop, the design extends its presence vertically throughout the architecture, creating a seamless relationship between landscape, space, and skyline.
The concept draws inspiration from natural landforms, evolving from the protective ‘Mound’ at ground level to the elevated ‘Mountain’ sanctuary above. These organic contours shape the entire guest journey, transforming the transition from city to retreat into a carefully choreographed spatial experience. At street level, sculpted terrain and dense tropical planting create a natural buffer that softens the intensity of the surrounding urban environment. Noise fades, perspectives become more controlled, and the pace of arrival gradually slows, allowing guests to move seamlessly from the energy of the city into a sense of calm and seclusion.
As the landscape ascends vertically, the architecture evolves into a tiered sanctuary suspended above the city. Leisure spaces are carved directly into the terrain, forming intimate retreats, shaded cabanas, and elevated garden environments that feel immersed within a constructed tropical wilderness.
A defining aspect of the design is its approach to privacy. Instead of relying on walls or enclosures, privacy is achieved through subtle level changes, layered vegetation, and controlled sightlines that create moments of intimacy while maintaining openness toward Lumphini Park and the skyline beyond. The city is never fully removed, but intentionally softened and edited throughout the experience.
The project ultimately rethinks the conventional high-rise typology by creating a continuous vertical landscape where nature is experienced as an uninterrupted spatial condition from ground to sky. Through the integration of architecture, ecology, and hospitality, the design proposes a new vision for tropical urban living, one defined by serenity, atmosphere, and timeless connection to nature.

| The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok Wins the 22nd Annual HD Awards in the Landscape + Outdoor Spaces Category
The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok has been a winner in the Landscape + Outdoor Spaces category at the 22nd Annual HD Awards, one of the hospitality industry’s most respected international design awards.
Envisioned as an urban sanctuary beside Lumphini Park, the project reinterprets the relationship between architecture and landscape by allowing nature to become the defining spatial experience. The design dissolves the boundary between city and park through a sequence of sculpted terrains, immersive greenery, and elevated retreat spaces that bring a sense of calm into the heart of Bangkok.
From the protective landscape edge at street level to the layered garden environments above, each element was designed to create moments of transition, privacy, and sensory connection. The integration of landform, planting, water, shade, and framed views establishes a hospitality experience that feels both grounded in nature and distinctly metropolitan.
We are grateful to our clients, collaborators, and project teams whose dedication and creativity brought this vision to life. This recognition is a meaningful celebration of the collective effort behind the project.

| Thian Thale Phatthana Phrueksa Phirom Park: Restoring Ecology, Reconnecting People with Nature
Thian Thale Phatthana Phrueksa Phirom Park was developed under Bangkok’s policy to expand public green spaces, contributing to the citywide goal of creating 5,000 rais of green area through collaboration between the public and private sectors.
Located in Bang Khun Thian, an area originally known for its rich mangrove forest ecosystem, the design emphasizes ecological restoration and environmental preservation while thoughtfully integrating recreational spaces for the community. The project reflects a balanced coexistence between nature and urban life.
The master plan carefully organizes spaces by function and activity level. Sports courts and group activity areas are positioned near the entrance and parking areas for convenient access. At the same time, quieter recreational spaces are placed deeper within the park to create a more peaceful atmosphere away from the main road.
Responding to the site’s natural swamp conditions, the park also incorporates an integrated water management system designed to collect and manage runoff from surrounding areas. This approach helps reduce flooding within the project and neighboring communities while supporting sustainable water usage through water retention for landscape irrigation.
Beyond serving as a recreational destination, the park stands as a model for environmental conservation and ecosystem restoration, creating a functional public space that exists in harmony with the original natural landscape.

How Can Public Green Spaces Shift Cities from Heat to Healing?
Long Heal: a pocket forest to create moments of calm in the city.
Cities are getting hotter every day, driven by climate change, dense urban development, heat-retaining materials, and the steady loss of trees and green spaces. This intensifies the urban heat island effect, impacting not only comfort but also public health, economic activity, and overall quality of life. As global temperatures continue to rise, creating cooler, more livable cities has become an urgent priority.
One of the most effective and accessible solutions is the integration of well-designed green spaces. Trees do more than provide shade, reducing ambient temperatures, filtering pollutants, and creating microclimates that offer relief from urban heat. When strategically planned, green spaces can work with natural elements like wind and shade to amplify their cooling effect, while also supporting emotional and mental wellbeing. In fast-paced, high-density cities, nature becomes a vital space to pause, reset, and heal.
Long Heal: Urban (Fo)rest transforms Lan Khon Mueang into an elongated, folded pocket forest, reimagining a rigid urban plaza into a layered landscape of shade, texture, and sensory experience. The installation invites visitors to engage with nature through sight, sound, scent, and touch, creating moments of calm within the city’s intensity.
Shma invites you to explore the design concept behind Long Heal and discover how urban nature can become a powerful tool for healing, cooling, and reconnecting people with the environment.

Chak Phupha Su Maha Nathee Park is a 41,600 sqm botanical landscape created to commemorate the 90th Birthday of HM Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. By bringing together plant species hand-planted by Her Majesty across Thailand, the park becomes a living forest of national memory and everyday life. Located between Queen Sirikit, Wachirabenchathat, and Chatuchak parks, it reconnects these major green spaces into a continuous landscape where people can walk, learn, and experience nature as part of their daily routines.
Once a paved parking lot, the site has been transformed into a dynamic terrain of hills, wetlands, and streams shaped from reused materials. Water flows through a constructed wetland into interactive play areas, allowing visitors, especially children, to engage directly with natural systems. Over 2,400 trees create a growing, layered forest that provides shade, habitat, and seasonal change. As the park evolves, it supports both ecological performance and everyday urban life, turning infrastructure into a shared space for play, learning, and connection with nature

| Noble Create: Forest Habitat, Redefining Everyday Living in an Urban Ecological Sanctuary
As cities grow denser, green space continues to diminish, and nature is often reduced to a decorative backdrop rather than an essential part of everyday life. Noble Create reimagines this condition by positioning landscape as living infrastructure, transforming the site into an Urban Ecological Sanctuary that enhances both quality of life and the wider urban environment.
With over 15,000 square meters of continuous green space, the project creates an immersive natural refuge within a dense metropolitan context. Guided by the concept of Forest Habitat, the design interprets the forest as a living system rather than a visual theme, where ecological processes such as growth, layering, moisture, and biodiversity shape the environment and support a balanced relationship between people and nature.
The landscape unfolds through three interconnected characters: Verdant Valley, Floral Meadow, and Rivulet. Verdant Valley is embraced by residential buildings, offering shade, habitat, and a serene communal retreat. Floral Meadow introduces seasonal color and movement through flowering species that attract pollinators and enrich the sensory experience. Rivulet acts as a visible water system, moderating microclimate, supporting stormwater management, and sustaining the health of the landscape.
Six residential towers are arranged around this green core, ensuring constant visual and physical connection to nature. Subtle topographic changes shape spatial experiences, guide water flow, and define activity zones. Amenities such as lawns, amphitheatre, fitness areas, and nature-based play spaces are seamlessly embedded within the landscape, encouraging daily interaction with the environment.
Elevated experiences, including a birdwatching tower and Sky Walk, extend the relationship with nature into the canopy layer, offering unique perspectives rarely found in urban living. The clubhouse is conceived as a tropical retreat, further reinforcing the sense of escape within the city.
Noble Create is more than a residential development. It is a regenerative landscape system that reduces urban heat, improves water performance, and restores biodiversity, while redefining everyday living through continuous engagement with nature.
