🌱 Can Environmental Protection and Economic Development Go Hand in Hand? China’s Experience Offers an Answer.

Environmental protection and economic development do not have to be opposing goals.
A recent article by Erik Solheim (Chair of the Europe-Asia Center and former under-secretary-general of the United Nations) explores how China’s new Ecological and Environmental Code seeks to strengthen long-term environmental governance and integrate green and low-carbon development into the country’s legal framework.

From the restoration of the Chishui River and the recovery of endangered Yangtze sturgeon to the continued development of renewable energy and green industries, the article highlights how environmental protection can be integrated with economic and social development through long-term commitment and coordinated action.

We are pleased to share the latest progress of the Air Quality Superstation project in Bangkok.
On September 22, Lihero joined a progress meeting with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Department of Environment, Kasetsart University, CRAES, and the Federation of Thai Industries to report on the operation of the Superstation and discuss the next steps for the Decision Support System.
The Superstation provides real-time monitoring of PM2.5 chemical components and key air pollutants, supporting source apportionment and a deeper understanding of PM2.5 formation and pollution sources.
We are honored to contribute our technology and expertise to this collaborative initiative and look forward to working with our partners to support more science-based and targeted air pollution management in Bangkok.

🌊 One Year of Reliable Water Quality Monitoring in Sri Lanka
The Kelani River Automated Water Quality Monitoring Station, delivered by LIHERO, has achieved one year of continuous and stable operation in Sri Lanka.

As a vital water resource for drinking water supply, agriculture, and industry, the Kelani River now benefits from real-time monitoring of key parameters, including pH, temperature, DO, EC, turbidity, ammonia nitrogen, and COD, providing reliable data support for watershed management and environmental protection.
🌧 Proven Reliability Under Extreme Weather
The system successfully withstood heavy rainfall and flooding caused by Tropical Cyclone Ditta in late 2025. With rapid technical support and system recovery, monitoring was restored quickly without replacement of core components, demonstrating the reliability and strong environmental adaptability of LIHERO’s solutions.

🌤️🤝 LIHERO’s first air quality monitoring Super Station in Southeast Asia draws attention from Chinese and Korean environmental experts!

Experts from the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences and China-Korea Environmental Cooperation Center visited Kasetsart University, Thailand, to inspect our Super Station built for the “Clean Air Bangkok” initiative. Our local team, alongside Dr. Surat Bualert’s research group, hosted the delegation.
Our specialists presented the station’s self-developed monitoring tech, which works reliably under tropical conditions, delivering particulate source apportionment, real-time pollutant tracking and refined urban air monitoring data ✅.
The experts praised our localized solutions for supporting Bangkok’s scientific air governance. Stakeholders also discussed cross-border cooperation plans covering joint R&D, standard alignment and talent training to advance environmental monitoring across Southeast Asia 🌏💚

Super proud to support air quality improvement efforts in Bangkok through the China–Thailand Air Quality Monitoring Cooperation. Our Super Station combines real-time source apportionment technology with LiDAR monitoring to provide actionable environmental data for researchers and policymakers.

“สถานีตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศ” ความร่วมมือ “จีน-ไทย” ช่วยกรุงเทพฯ รับมือปัญหาฝุ่นพิษ
บนดาดฟ้าของอาคาร ณ มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ มีเครื่องมือตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศจำนวน 7 เครื่องทำหน้าที่เก็บตัวอย่างอากาศและส่งข้อมูลแบบเรียลไทม์ไปยังแพลตฟอร์มวิเคราะห์อัจฉริยะตลอด 24 ชั่วโมง โดยเครื่องมือเหล่านี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของสถานีตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศที่มีชื่อว่า "ซูเปอร์ สเตชัน" (Super Station) ซึ่งเปิดใช้งานเมื่อเดือนเมษายนที่ผ่านมา และนับเป็นหนึ่งในความคืบหน้าสำคัญของโครงการความร่วมมือจีน-ไทยที่มุ่งปรับปรุงคุณภาพอากาศในกรุงเทพฯ

อนึ่ง มลพิษทางอากาศกลายเป็นปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมเรื้อรังของกรุงเทพฯ ในช่วงหลายปีที่ผ่านมา โดยมีสาเหตุจากการปล่อยมลพิษของยานพาหนะ ภาคอุตสาหกรรม และการเผาชีวมวลจากพื้นที่โดยรอบ ซึ่งล้วนส่งผลให้ปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศมีความซับซ้อนมากขึ้น และทำให้คุณภาพอากาศย่ำแย่ในบางช่วงฤดูกาล
รศ. ดร.สุรัตน์ บัวเลิศ จากคณะสิ่งแวดล้อม มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ และหัวหน้าโครงการฝ่ายไทยประจำสถานีฯ กล่าวว่า มลพิษทางอากาศของกรุงเทพฯ เปรียบเสมือนค็อกเทล ประกอบด้วยแหล่งกำเนิดมลพิษหลายประเภท โดยการระบุแหล่งกำเนิดมลพิษทางอากาศเป็นความท้าทายสำคัญสำหรับผู้กำหนดนโยบายมาเนิ่นนาน ซึ่งในอดีตการวิเคราะห์แหล่งกำเนิดของฝุ่นพิษพีเอ็ม2.5 (PM2.5) อาจใช้เวลานานถึง 6 เดือน แต่ด้วยเทคโนโลยีการตรวจสอบแบบเรียลไทม์ของสถานีแห่งนี้ ทำให้สามารถทราบผลลัพธ์ได้ภายในไม่กี่ชั่วโมง ซึ่งช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการติดตามมลพิษและสัดส่วนแหล่งกำเนิดมลพิษได้อย่างมาก
หวังเปิ่นล่า ผู้จัดการฝ่ายเทคนิคของบริษัทลี่เหอ เทคโนโลยี (หูหนาน) จำกัด ซึ่งเป็นผู้จัดหาสถานีตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศแห่งนี้ กล่าวว่าสถานีดังกล่าวเป็นเทคโนโลยีที่บริษัทพัฒนาขึ้นเอง สามารถวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบของอนุภาคฝุ่นละอองได้แบบเรียลไทม์ มาพร้อมเทคโนโลยีไลดาร์ (LiDAR) ที่ช่วยตรวจสอบการกระจายตัวของมลพิษในเชิงพื้นที่ ทำให้นักวิจัยสามารถระบุแหล่งกำเนิดมลพิษ รวมถึงประเมินสัดส่วนการปล่อยมลพิษจากแต่ละแหล่งได้อย่างแม่นยำ
รศ. ดร.สุรัตน์ ระบุว่า สถานีตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศรวบรวมข้อมูลไปแล้วเกือบสองเดือน ซึ่งในอนาคตจะเชื่อมโยงเข้ากับเครือข่ายตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศเดิมของกรุงเทพฯ เพื่อช่วยให้การบริหารจัดการคุณภาพอากาศมีความแม่นยำและทันท่วงทีมากขึ้น พร้อมทั้งสนับสนุนข้อมูลเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์สำหรับการกำหนดนโยบาย
ทั้งนี้ เมื่อเดือนมิถุนายน 69 สถาบันวิจัยวิทยาศาสตร์สิ่งแวดล้อมของจีน กรุงเทพมหานคร สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย และบริษัทลี่เหอ เทคโนโลยี (หูหนาน) ได้ลงนามในบันทึกความร่วมมือเพื่อเสริมแกร่งศักยภาพการเฝ้าติดตามคุณภาพอากาศและการจัดการมลพิษของกรุงเทพฯ
รศ. ดร.สุรัตน์ เปิดเผยเพิ่มเติมว่า นอกจากกรุงเทพฯ แล้ว ยังมีภาคเหนือและภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือที่เผชิญปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศที่ทวีความรุนแรงขึ้นช่วงหลายปีที่ผ่านมา ซึ่งไทยกำลังเดินหน้าพัฒนาระบบบริหารจัดการมลพิษทางอากาศให้มีความครอบคลุมมากยิ่งขึ้น ขณะเดียวกัน ประสบการณ์ของจีนด้านการตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศ การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล และเทคโนโลยีควบคุมมลพิษนั้นนับเป็นบทเรียนอันมีค่าสำหรับไทย พร้อมสำทับว่าความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยและจีนสามารถต่อยอดไปได้ไกลกว่าการแก้ไขปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศ โดยอาจครอบคลุมถึงด้านการบริหารจัดการน้ำและการลดการปล่อยก๊าซคาร์บอนด้วย
