บทสนทนาระหว่างอุตสาหกรรมและอัตลักษณ์
บริษัท ท๊อปแลนด์ คอนกรีต จำกัด ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการผลิตชิ้นส่วนคอนกรีตสำเร็จรูป มีโรงงานตั้งอยู่ในจังหวัดเชียงรายและกำแพงเพชร เพื่อรองรับความต้องการวัสดุก่อสร้างในพื้นที่ภาคเหนือตอนบนและตอนล่าง ด้วยการเติบโตขององค์กร จึงเกิดความต้องการอาคารสำนักงานซึ่งบ่งบอกถึงอัตลักษณ์ขององค์กร เพื่อทดแทนอาคารสำนักงานสำเร็จรูปที่เคยใช้งานมาก่อนหน้านี้
ที่ตั้งของอาคารสำนักงานถูกพิกัดให้ตั้งอยู่ด้านหน้าโครงการ เพื่อการเข้าถึงได้ง่ายและแสดงตัวตนให้คนที่ผ่านไปมาได้เห็น แต่ด้วยพื้นที่ดังกล่าวอยู่ติดกับอาคารผลิตชิ้นงานคอนกรีตขนาดใหญ่ ซึ่งมีโครงสร้างขนาดมหึมา แต่สถาปนิกมองในแง่ดีว่าอาคารขนาดใหญ่นี้ได้แสดงศักยภาพด้านการผลิตของบริษัทไว้อย่างชัดเจนแล้ว สถาปนิกจึงเลือกไม่แสดงอัตลักษณ์นั้นซ้ำซ้อนอีก แต่เลือกสร้างบทสนทนาใหม่ ที่อ่อนโยนและน่าเข้าถึงมากขึ้น ด้วยการออกแบบอาคารสำนักงานและพื้นที่ต้อนรับลูกค้าให้มีความนุ่มนวลและมีชีวิตชีวา
บริษัท อศณ สถาปนิก จำกัด ผู้ออกแบบ ได้นำอัตลักษณ์ของแบรนด์มาถอดรหัสเป็นเปลือกอาคาร (facade) โดยเลือกใช้โทนสีเลียนแบบไม้ ให้ความรู้สึกอบอุ่นและแตกต่างจากอาคารโรงงานข้างเคียง แต่ยังคงความกลมกลืนในภาพรวมของโครงการให้ดูน่าสนใจ
และเปลือกอาคารมิได้สร้างเพียงคุณประโยชน์ด้านอัตลักษณ์ หากแต่ยังช่วยลดความร้อนจากแสงอาทิตย์ที่ผ่องถ่ายสู่อาคาร เนื่องด้วยด้านหน้าอาคารหันหน้าไปทางทิศใต้ ซึ่งเป็นข้อจำกัดของพื้นที่และแนวถนนทางเข้า ส่งผลให้กระจกบานใหญ่ด้านหน้าอาคารต้องเผชิญกับแสงแดดตลอดวัน
หลังคาของอาคารถูกแยกออกเป็น 2 ระนาบ เพื่อลดความรู้สึกหนักแน่นของผืนหลังคาขนาดใหญ่ พร้อมทั้งสร้างจังหวะการซ้อนทับที่แตกต่างจากอาคารทรงจั่วทั่วไปในท้องถิ่น นำไปสู่รูปทรงที่มีมิติและชวนมองมากยิ่งขึ้น
จุดสำคัญอีกจุดหนึ่งของโครงการ คือการผสมผสานความร่วมมือกันระหว่างผู้ออกแบบและเจ้าของโครงการที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญด้านคอนกรีต
งานวิศวกรรมโครงสร้างหลักดำเนินการโดย บริษัท สตรัคเจอรัล แล็บบอราทอรี จำกัด ส่วนงานคอนกรีตสำเร็จรูปได้ทีมวิศวกรจากบริษัท ท๊อปแลนด์ คอนกรีต จำกัด เอง เข้ามาร่วมออกแบบและผลิตชิ้นส่วน ซึ่งสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการบูรณาการระหว่างความเชี่ยวชาญภายในองค์กรกับทีมผู้ออกแบบภายนอกอย่างลงตัว

A Harmonious Dialogue Between Industry and Identity
Topland Concrete Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer of precast concrete elements, serves the upper and lower northern regions through its facilities in Chiang Rai and Kamphaeng Phet. As the company continues to grow, the need arose for a Head Office building replacing the temporary modular structure that had previously housed the administrative team.
Set adjacent to a large-scale concrete production building, the new Head Office would inevitably face the challenge of coexisting with the bold industrial presence of its surroundings. The production building—imposing in both scale and material—already communicates the company's manufacturing power. The architect’s task, then, was to create a space that offered a more refined experience for visitors and executives, while subtly referencing the company's identity.
The architectural response introduces contrast through softness and tactility. Rather than mimic the rawness of the production building, the design team crafted a warm, welcoming façade for the administrative and reception building. Inspired by Topland Concrete’s trademark identity, the envelope translates the brand into architectural language—expressed in a wood-toned façade that evokes natural textures and contrasts gently with the adjacent concrete structures.
This façade not only enhances visual appeal but also performs a critical environmental function. Positioned to face directly south due to site constraints and entrance orientation, the building incorporates a patterned screen that shades the expansive glazing. This passive design element reduces solar gain while maintaining a light, approachable character—an important consideration for a space that greets clients and partners.
To avoid the heaviness of a traditional gabled roof, the design breaks the roofline into two offset volumes. The overlapping roof planes reduce the overall visual mass and add architectural sophistication to the compact program.
Structural engineering was undertaken by Structural Laboratory Co., Ltd., while Topland Concrete Co., Ltd. contributed its own expertise in precast concrete for specific building components—highlighting the seamless integration of in-house manufacturing with the designer and engineering teams.
