As 2025 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on a year of growth and collaboration at MIIM Office for Architecture.
This year challenged us in the best ways. We took on our most technically demanding project to date: an observation deck and immersion space within a landmark building in Taiwan, offering a 360-degree view of the city. Developed in collaboration with an international team, the project is complex, intense, and deeply rewarding.
Several projects also moved decisively toward completion. Daming High School in Taichung is now finished and awaiting its certificate of occupancy. Four classroom blocks are gathered beneath a single giant roof, creating generous semi-outdoor learning spaces around an intimate courtyard. We’re eagerly anticipating its opening.
In Taichung, Wen (炆)—a contemporary Hakka restaurant—is in its final stages. A simple architectural gesture, carefully shaped by a meticulously designed skylight, creates a calm, light-filled setting for modern Hakka cuisine. Working with one of Taiwan’s most renowned Hakka culinary families, we are thrilled to bring this project to life.
On a more intimate scale, we completed an apartment interior in Taipei’s Tianmu neighborhood for a young family. Within a compact footprint, the project focused on carefully balancing living spaces, storage, and utilities.
Finally, at Taichung Central Park, our culinary lifestyle space—housing a restaurant, café, and cocktail bar—has reached a major milestone. With the concrete structure completed, the project explores form, food culture, and a site-specific response to the park edge designed by Philippe Rahm Architects and Mosbach Paysagistes. Roof and façade installation will follow in early 2026.
🙏Thank you to our clients, collaborators, and partners for your trust throughout the year. We’re proud of what 2025 has brought—and excited for what lies ahead.
