Use of trees to create extra shaded sitting.

Choosing the right tree is very important. You would want a tree that allows sunlight through its branches and also doesn't litter it's leaves too much while your enjoying its shade.

The tree in this image is called albizia.

The new normal.

We sometimes don't know how much ability we have to maintain our own gardens. During this lockdown I had to deliver plants to clients homes then talk them through how and were plant them.

Technology came in handy by the use of videos and images before and after planting. Who knew.......?
The plus is client's are more involved and in Control of the process.

Hello to all you good people who take the time out of you busy schedules to relax with me in Syl's Garden. I am going to share some tips about what to consider during or before you plant your garden.

1. Garden planting or maintenance is a project and should have a design brief, a plan, a budget, timeline, and options to manage initial designs so they fit within the clients budget.

These can be sketches or scribles. Something that can be referred to. Just make sure you date your scribbles to show you how your progressing!

Your garden and your mental health.

Our environment / garden is the book that tells others how you feel about yourself. It reveals how healthy your mind is. Have you ever wondered why some places make you feel calm just by looking or sitting in the garden?
We need to add well kept gardens / compounds to our wellness lists of exercise, drinking water, healthy diet and other efforts.

COVID 19 has had and will continue to have an effect not only on small businesses as entities but mostly on the employees. The greatest effect has been on employees who earn a days wage like most employed by Syl's Garden. One of the realizations is its not enough to diligently pay our workers day wage, but now we are thinking about ways to intentionally guide then into ways to put at least 1000 shillings a day aside for a rainy day that as we have seen now will surely come.
