At last a breath of rain to give us a moment!

It's been push for every second since April.

First we leveled large piles of top soil to establish grade at a newly constructed house!

Second, we had a customer call with pretty specific needs. His land was used as a dump site for construction of County E. This left large, uneven piles everywhere.

NRCS decided his land qualified for a cost share restoration program and we came to make things plantable for wildlife style vegetation, including semi-merging 2 water ways into 1 per request, leveling of piles and spreading of material.

As you can see, it’s been a wild spring here. We’ve been far too busy to keep up with showing our work, but finally have a moment to breathe between jobs with a touch of rain moving through.

Here’s a small sample of some of the work completed since the thaw — with many jobs never making it to the camera roll, either from being pressed for time or because pictures just don’t fully show the amount of work involved.

Culverts, driveways, drainage ditches, mowing operations, trail clean up, and estimates galore have kept our heads on a swivel and time management running full tilt so far this season.

We appreciate everyone keeping us busy and trusting ERE Excavation with your projects. Our business would be nothing without our loyal customers and supporters.

Seriously — thank you to all of our customers, supporters, friends, family, and community. The overwhelming volume of calls this year has truly been a blessing. We chalk it up to years of commitment, dedication to quality work, and most importantly the continued support from the people around us who believe in what we do.

A fine Friday in Wausau.

This client reached out after dealing with water coming in through her basement window sills—an issue that started after the neighboring property raised their grade by over 6 feet.
After shooting elevations with a transit, it became clear the new grade not only disrupted the natural water flow but also limited the available solutions. A few contractors had previously suggested installing a French drain, but the reality was there simply wasn’t enough fall to make that system effective.

Instead, we designed a simpler solution that actually works with the site conditions. We graded a shallow drainage ditch to redirect water, then topdressed, seeded, and installed erosion matting to stabilize the area and protect long-term flow.

Another problem solved—and another project completed on schedule.

As soon as the season kicked off, we pulled off scheduled work to handle an urgent culvert replacement.

The existing 18” culvert—installed by another contractor—was undersized and causing major washouts. We worked with the County to upsize it to a proven 30” solution to protect the property long-term.

From customer approval to start time was under 48 hours—even with permitting involved. Once permits were finalized, we had everything on-site and started in less than 24 hours.

When it’s urgent, we move.

We were blessed to attend another home show in Phillips as we expand our footprint with heavy focus on forestry mulching and brush mowing services.

We enjoyed our conversations with both the community of Phillips, and the amazing vendors we met there.

Let's make it difficult for Goodrich Grain & Gather to keep their stand full!!

ONLY my wife makes better sourdough products, and before you ask yes I'm in the doghouse if I say different.

Got both mixers going today getting things going in the kitchen.

Cookies and cinnamon rolls heading out to the stand shortly, and I’ll keep adding to it as I go.
